Strictly speaking I am not a 'real' full time housewife coz I have a full time job on daytime but coz I have flexible hours and therefore I can take leave as long as I like (coz I have a very nice boss)
My baby is now 6.5 months and I would like to find some learnign kits to teach him at home ... I saw in the messages that flash cards and something else, could anybody give me advice on it??? is it too early to start with the learning??? ?-( ?-( how abt 'playgroup'???
and I also saw the messages relate to maids... I am an unlucky mum... when my baby was born last august, I had a bunbun to help BUT I 'fired' her when bb was 4 months old... and then I hired a 'hourly' part time maid ... and again I will dismiss her today... coz her bad attitude.
I'm now looking for a new yan yan coz in daytime bb is caring by my parents who live just next tower of us... (I have brought a flat for them same in my estate) ... but coz they're old and need to take rest... so even I know those foreign helpers are not good... I need to have one again... (last time was a totally nightmare for me!!!)

I think it's never too early to teach your bb, according to Glenn Doman method, you could even teach your bb starting from newborn. Quite frankly, i start using flashcard to my bb starting from about 5 months. So far, i don't know the result yet cause my bb don't know how to talk yet. But from the experience of other mama, i do believe that it benefit to our babies.

Actually i buy so many books is to fill up the little book shelf in the sitting room. Cause Lam Lam will pull down all the books from the shelf and try to destroy the book. Wow! What a good start! 加油呀! As andiecyw said, flash as fast as u can so as to keep Tasha's interest in it. Once u slow down, her interest will be lost! And u may flash diff kinds of flash cards at the same time. I think it would even be better have several catagories of cards, she would be more curious to learn !
Your baby is really to learn already! You may start any time now. Flash cards and playgroups are good ways to explore your bb. Time flies, it'll never be too early to teach your bb! Act now !

Just been to Tutor Time this morning, Natasha sort of enjoyed it, esp. the 15mins playground time. It's really different from the playgroups. I think she's going to learn much more things from this playgroup.

Natasha is being a naughty girl lately. She doesn't like the maid to rock her to sleep and she cries and cries for a long long time even when I rock her myself. The worst thing is that once she wakes up at around 7am for the bottle feeding, she doesn't want to sleep even when she's still pretty sleepy. Really give me a headache!

haha, I hope I had time to make bb... Andrea was having a high fever for 8 days and was just returned home from hospital this afternoon. I was so exhaused but unable to sleep now....
It's really not easy to raise a bb, both my hubby & I had a talk about the next baby. It's really a god bless to have a healthy baby, fortunatly, Andrea is getting better & better now :mrgreen:

These days i'm thinking of second baby too after i watched a TV program describing a British woman who got 15 children! And she even said she will keep going on having children! Although i think it's a bit sick of her, it arouse me about having 2 children instead of 1. Anyway, i'll wait until Lam Lam is 2 years old.
Agree w u that raising a child is really a tough job, i mean u've to worry at least 18 years, actually it's a life time project! But don't worry, wishing u have a healthy and cutie baby very soon. :mrgreen:

Ah, I hope so much that I could take a day off to MK for shopping those kids books. You know when I see u all talking about so many interesting books, really want to buy all of them. Will try to ask 大陸x店, see if they could order some books for me.
Finally fired my maid on Thursday night. It is a caos now!! I've to do all the housework, cook for Natasha and take care of her. On top of these, my old maid carelessly let Natasha caught a cold on the day before she left therefore I have to put up with the mess she left me. It is a nightmare for me!! I'm so exhausted now!!
You know, the maid is sooooo bad. She want me to fire her all along but didn't admit to it everytime I asked her. I think it's because her friend told her not to trust me even I told her that I'm willing to fire her if she doesn't want to work her anymore.
So.... she doesn't to let my baby eat disguising food and take every chance to hurt her without any precaution of home safety. I really feel so stupid for thinking about her and her future when I'm actually jeopardising her baby's safety.
Just called my agent and they said they'd just admitted the file to the gov't this week, therefore my new maid should hopefully arrived towards the end of May.
Really wish the new maid could arrive as early as possible.
Oh! What a surprise! I think u will wait until your new maid to come before firing the old one. Sorry to hear about her bad attitudes, esp towards Tasha :evil: ! It's really a relief to have this kind of maid gone coz u never know how she treated the BB when u were not around.
Well, still have 1.5mths before the new maid comes. It must be tough taking care of Tasha and doing the housework by yourself. Will u hire a PT helper to help u at the moment? Hope everything is smooth in this transitional period !
I've changed my mind and will let Anson attend pre-nursery in April (last time I think I would let him in in the coming Sept).
It's because last week I took Anson to visit the nursery. He seemed like the school very much. And I saw the kids attending class, they were so lovely. I hope Anson would be one of them and enjoy playing with his classmates :mrgreen: ! That's why I haven't tried the mandarin playgroups yet as I called little dynamite and the centre nearby, they only offer weekdays morning class!
The nursery is in Caine Rd and we only take about 10 mins walk there, no need to take any transportation !

Ralph he got a liitle bit running rose since last week.I think we should take care coz the weather always changing.
Ralph he seems learn so fast in these fews week. Now he can recognize "o", when i take him out he always says "o" and point to it when he find "o".
He also can says " a car" ," Ball" " "boat" when i show him those things.
But the bad thing is he doesn't like to walk even he knows how to walk. He just walk a few steps and then cry for carrying.

I don't know your case well. Last time, I didn't let Anson crawl but he himself would struggle to stand and walk from one end to another end in his bb bed when he was 10-11 mths. To him, he's very willing to walk. I really don't know how to attract BB to walk more. But don't worry, maybe Ralph is just not ready right now, he will soon walk by himself !
