I got the information about 12 statutory holidays for 2007 from Labour Department website. I give my maid 2 days off per month, the other 2 days compensate by money.

My questions are:
1) I just only need to follow the 12 satutoty holidays plus her regular off days right? Are there any other days off or holidays I should give?

ANS:{Plus annual leave at first 2 year @year 7 days, two years should have 14 days annual leaves.}

2) Am I against the law by giving only 2 days off and pay money for the other 2 days? Can I give her 4 days money and no off provided that she agreed?

ANS:{By Law, about weekly day off if the maid willing to work on that day, you can cash in lieu BUT about the 12 statutory holidays you must let her off(you can arrange another day no need to off on exact date)CANNOT cash in lieu even she agreed.}

I employ a new maid from direct hire package; she will come to Hong Kong in mid of March. I asked my agent that the package of the direct hire fee is not including fetching the maid to my house. So my maid needs to come to my house by herself. One thing I want to know that if I need to pay the fare for her to arrive my house, or she need to pay for herself. Thank you very much

Ans:{Manila to Cagayan De Oro那一程安排內陸機返去比較好，因搭船4日另再搭車返Bukidnon如用$150x4+車費會比較搭內陸機貴。其實你可机票返Manila+俾錢(大約HK$400)佢自己係Manila買內陸機票平過你係HK book 好多架}

我個菲姐11/3返家放假,27/3返嚟,佢突然問我攞機票,放假返去的信,佢自己的証件話要比菲律賓領事管睇,跟住話咩OEC,又話要打印才可返去,其實是否真呢?OEC又係咩嚟?

ANS:{機票及証件係要俾菲律賓領事管睇, 呢D係攪OEC既 requirement、但放假返去的信(support letter)就唔洗。 OEC =Overseas Employment Certificate係證明佢係海外(HK)有僱主請佢，咁菲Immigration先會俾佢出境架}

ANS:{你冇戶籍千萬唔可以做僱主、房署一定唔批架，你個Agent唔夠經驗先會叫你做僱主。正確做法係由你媽媽或爸爸做僱主、你就做sponsor負責支付工人人工(入境處要你出信確應呢一點)另提交你既入息證明及出世紙副本證明大家關係即可}
