I am going to agencies to interview the local bun buns this Sunday(as I have just fired my bun bun because she borrowed money), can you advise some strategies. What if the local helpers have no reference?

If they really cannot give you any reference
better not consider them because how can
trust their words without a release letter or
at least they should have employer's contact
details. If they cannot provide any contact
numbers from their employers. Usually they
will tell you because employer not allowed
them to use the telephone that why they
don't know the Employer's home number.
Or they will say employer usually call every
hour to check on them. Would you believe that?
In case you really want to hire a maid without
reference, you can ask them to trial for few hours
or one day to do some house cleaning or prepare for a lunch/dinner then you can see whether they
are suitable for you or not. But this is illegal, you
need to take risk when you trial the maid.
