Please ask them to make sure the 8 pieces (2 packs) won't have duplicated colors. If we go by ourselves, we could choose the colors ourselves, if we order via phone call, it will depend on them to pick the colors for us. I think at the end, we just want bright and pretty color and no overlapping, right? Please remind them not to make 4 same colors only (for every pack), and then, you mums will have duplicated colors if you get 2 packs. You could tell him that we, each family, buy 2 packs, and so, the 2 packs need to be in different colors, i.e. 8 colors.
