I was in London untill my 28th weeks.... my midwife didn't mention about this and I didn't receive any memo like this before.... In HK (I gave birth in Kwong Wah), I was not allowed to get down from bed for 8 hours (for normal delivery) and stayed two nights in the hospital after delivery. Hm.... may be all the follow-up works will rely on the health visitor here
like cleaning and checking the wound, your emotional changes after giving birth, how to breastfeed and bath your baby... so it will be necessary to have someone around to help you in London as it's not easy/good for you to walk around for the first few days after delivery.
