basically, i should be ok everyday. just need to inform me in advance. but 29-31 aug not ok, as daughter's friends come to sleepover.

sorry ah, I don't know any home childcare in that area ah. My kids go to a babysitter, but she only takes care of my kids.

When do you need the service? How old is your child? I know UMS has pre-montessori program starting at aged of 2, but it has a long line up.

She will be 11mths when I go back to work in October this year. I am still searching for a good one. How did you find yours?

Do you think I should line up for UMS soon so that she could get into it at age of 2(1 year & 3mths from now)?

Is UMS a good montessori school? I am not familiar with it. she can go to this school even she lives in Markham right?

Hi poohbb77,

I know it's hard to find a good babysitter. My babysitter is my friend, so she is able to help me.

UMS (Unionville Montessori School)is a private school, so it doesn't matter where you live. It's on Kennedy and 16th Ave. You can call them to see when you should sign up. It maybe a little be early now, but at least 6 months earlier that you should sign up to get a seat. UMS has a pretty good comments from others, but better to go to their open house and check check.

my neighbour's 2 kids are going to the union towncenter Montesorrie - he said the program there is good, the kids love that but not cheap....

union towncenter is different from UMS (Unionville Montessori School)..right?

i also lived at maccowan & want to search for montessori for my younger son....he'll be at 2 in early Nov. Any recommendation & any idea on $$?

also, my elder son (age 4) he really want to attend painting class...any idea as well??!!

在 Pacific Mall 對面, 而UMS就在McCowan/16th. UMS不錯, 但個人比較喜歡 Richmond Hill Montessori School. 學費應唔差好遠。您可以約學校睇下問多d資料再考慮。

UMS is on Kennedy and 16th Ave. Richmond Hill Montessori is similar price to UMS. (edited - sorry I mixed up RHMS to TMS...)

Town Centre is near 14th Ave and Kennedy.

I would suggest you should visit each school to decide. Everyone's expectation is different.

My daughter is almost 4 too; I wanna send her to drawing class as well. Donno any good school, but my friends' children get a private teacher and share the cost. The teacher teaches at my friend's home. Around $10/ hour per student in group teaching (4 children in total).

today, i visited one motessori (forgot the name) on mccowan/bur oak, just next to the shell oil station. very small...just 2 class - 10 heads a class for 18 mths to age 3. another 10 heads above 3. teacher = principle = owner = everthing...when i visited around 2.15pm. all children were on bed...even so, they are full and only reg as waiting....

sure I can try to get the info for you. I am not sure if it will work for us to share the time together because the teacher needs to go to our place to teach, but we live not close to each other. But let me check check first.

Hi all,
I almost missed this important discussion of Montessori schools.

My girls are going to Toronto Montessori School in Richmond Hill (Bayview and Hwy 7). I highly recommended this school. They also have a teacher institute to train Montessori teachers for all over Canada (particularly Ontario). They tend to retain those better teachers for themselves.

Have a look. They are definitely more expensive than UMS, but I think similar to Richmond Hill Montessori.

Just my 2 cents.
