Found that I bought 1 duplicate book :
Horrible Science Handbook : Famous Foul Expriments, $102 ==> $61.20

Just found a receipt :
I bought this book for piglet in midFeb2009 from Popular, at $118 less 20% ==> $94.40
Great loss ah !!
Worse than HSBC !

Re: Math Olympaid Contest Problems, as this book was 1996 edition, so no more stock can be found in amazon. btw, it is quoted at US$28 from other websites.

Found volume 2 of the same series writen by another author in 2008. Price is US$36, again no stock available in amazon too.

This book is a collection of 425 challenging and interesting problems authored for the Mathematical Olympiads for Elementary and Middle Schools (MOEMS) over a ten-year period from 1995 to 2005. Its many features include: 50 Division E contests and 35 Division M contests; Step-by-step solutions to all problems; Hints, strategies, and percents correct for all questions; Multiple solutions for most problems; Extensions for about half of the questions; An index of problems by type; A thorough handbook for PICOs; and A rich study guide for mathletes.

- this was published by Govt Publications in 2006, ==> 創意默書 in Chin Dictation for our kids in Pr school.

Math Olympiad Contest Probl book
- Got it from Synergy (誠懇文化企業有限公司)
Didn't know you were also int in Math Oly otherwise would have got it for you. It was in the middle of one of 2 tables in the Synergy counter in Hall 1, the table farther away from the payment desk. Found it when I was trying to find more books under the "Why is snot green" etc type of books.

I think RMM is also interested in this book, if you can find it pls give a yell.

Re English levelled readers

There were some My Pals Readers in Hall 1 Synergy counter, but $108 for a pack of 6, very thin books, different levels.
Not worthwhile even after less 40%.

Learnt from insurance co. that I could get back more than I expected re piglet's operation. I only need to pay $34xx out of my own pocket plus pre- and post-op follow up $18xx, much less than what I expected.

So decided last night to buy more than I expected loh !

And I had considered (seriously) to buy the Science Museum lot of books from Dywoks earlier, so might as well buy from Synergy at less 40% - vvv good discount there.

Do you still want the HS Handbook, after seeing the real thing ?
I find that piglet would read books which should be quite difficult for him, if he finds it interesting enough. Which was why he read the 2 books in Horr Histories series on WW1 and WW2 already.

For the Chin Dictation book, you can buy it from Govt Publications any time ga. Just that there is no discount.
