The Shek Kong trip was OK woh, better than I expected.
We took West Rail to Kam Sheung Road station, then took No. 54 air-con bus for 3 stops.
Had to queue for entry to the camp, only allow 1 person to go through at a time, need to show ticket. (We are still not sure whether the tickets were family tickets, or need to show 1 ticket for each person.)

We missed the 反恐襲擊show which was held just as we were entering, just saw some smoke from gunpowder.
There was 1 helicopter (直7b型？)and an armoured vehicle for ppl to take photos, also a lot of guns / sub-machine guns / 火箭發射器，ppl could queue up and touch these and take photos. Also 3 buildings - an activity centre, a dorm, and a 空中訓練中心。In the 空中訓練中心there is a 模擬飛行訓練倉which is like one of the games in a game centre, ppl can queue to sit there and pretend for a few seconds.
Quite hot, Wah Yun Supermarket sold drinks and ice-cream, a cone = $6 not expensive. There was a "restaurant" for snacks but we didn't go over to look. The PLA soldiers were quite friendly and gladly answered questions.
My friend nearly withered after the trip, and piglet was whining for air-con.

And we bumped into the principal who took some prefects there so the 2 boys went up to her to say hello.

Altho I am not patriotic, it is a good experience for kids ga. But need to put on lots of sun-block, and really hot.

Next time we will go to Stonecutters Island where we can board a real 軍艦。

My UK cousin's reply :

"300 books send by sea is very expensive. You can use my company as a receive point. Before I can find out how much to send it to Hong Kong, I have to find out the weight of the books."

But we don't know the weight of the books from BkPpl !! And I think he thought those were 300+ Univ reference books !
So do we take a gamble ??
I suggest sea freight or whichever method is comparatively more reasonable. What say you gals ?????

Anyway, here's more hope hehe, and nearer to seeing the books, bookaholics / shopaholics.

Actually it is a show for kids (as it is not suitable for age under 3 only). I hadn't watched b4 but the comments from other moms are good, also here's the details which quote from one mom :

"我都打過電話去主辦單位問3歲去聽O唔OK，會唔會悶，佢地話有半場係由好出名彈琴o個個羅乃新同觀眾玩遊戲，佢係電台兒童節目主持，應該好掂。仲有一個10歲o既小朋友拉小提琴，默劇同音樂o個part係由以前香港管弦樂團o既蔡浩文指揮 (我聽林憶蓮倫永亮紅館場音樂會聽過佢)，全部都係莫札特好出名D歌，應該唔會悶o既。"

Anyway, I think it is a good exposure to music especially for the kids who are learning instruments.

Woh, attractive but not easy to get the tickets bor....when I think of the queue which show up every year, I decide to give up. BTW, 屯門騎術學校 also has an open day on 14/5 (1:00pm), maybe piglet w'd like to go for a horse racing ?

I've also booked the Mozart show, I think 3 yrs old is too small to enjoy it.

= Treetops stages 10 to 14 (selected books out of these stages)

Treetops at SingPop
= Treetops All Stars (Packs 1, 1A, 2, 2A, 3, 3A)

i.e. different titles and stages.

I will definitely get the 3 items of Treetops from BkPpl.
Then think think about buying Treetops All Stars packs from Sing Pop.

The tickets are available from PLA army camps for free, I think 1 or several days before the open camps. But then somebody need to queue up to get the tickets. And with limited supply you need to know when to get the tickets then go early to queue for them, also there is a max no. for each person queueing for tickets.

Not bought tickets like those for a show.

My friend got hold of some tickets and we tagged along, so I have no idea where the tickets were from.

Tks for info re 屯門騎術學校 open day on 14/5 1:00pm. But piglet has taekwondo class at 2pm Sundays so can't go. Before he knew that horses were rather huge in size, he liked horses too. And he watched the races on ATV though nobody in the family bets on horses.

I think there will be more promotion of 騎術in the next 2 yrs - HK Jockey Club and HK Govt will be "investing" heavily on this "sport" at least until 2008 Olympics. Altho HK Govt has promised that tax-payers' $$ will not be spent on this, wonder whether charitable spending under Jockey Club will be redirected towards this area instead of supporting projects for charitable purposes during the next 2 years.

And T2Exam time 2 days before and after Mozart concert, so no go either.

Hi, everyone,

i'm always watching your chatting and learn a lot.

i would like to take the advise of other moms for the standard/teaching methods of the native speaking teacher.

i am currently using a native speaking private teacher to teach my son phonics and oral one by one at home. The teacher said that he is a teacher of the Int'l School for many years.

But as view of the teaching methods, As mainly i would like my son to learn phonics by the systematic way. The teacher just using the picture Dictionary and ask my son to read aloud from A-Z, the name and the sounds of the letters. And then spell it like A for Apple and ask my son to read A and the sound of A and spell the word like a-p-p-l-e, i think this is not the way of blending the word, just like the old method of what we use when we are the student, just memorise the spelling.

Do you think i will stop this native speaking teacher and enrol the letterland or others phonics course at the teaching ctr is better??

Do you think this teacher have enought experience of teaching kids??

Found that my bee seems to be more healthy after taking Scott ''fish oil'. I let him have the orange taste. Add it into water and he drinks it like orange juice.

Glad to hear that your 99 is much better.
Will she be moving to another hosp soon ?

Does the Scotts Cod Liver Oil "melt" into water ? I never knew. Piglet simply "eats" the blob on the spoon gladly.
Should give bee a better appetite. And has been old drug for good health for decades.
