So, you will give birth to your babe in US. Do you get medical/maternity coverage from your husband's company? I know US hospital will charge a lot for non-citizen. If you babe born there, can it get the green card?
My sister lives in VanCouver and my father wants me to go to Canada to deliver my babe (given the babe can get the citizenship there). I am not sure whether it is OK or not. My sister helps me to check with the package of the hospital. They charge at least 9,000 Canadian dollars. Counting with the airfare, this and that...it's around HK$100,000. I think it's too expensive. For future, if the babe studies in a Canadian university, a citizenship can save a lot of money. Well.......I just wandering is it worth to do so. Finally, my husband and I decline the proposal. If it is good enough, he can get scholarship. Mami and Dady are giving too much ......it should strike for it's own life. Agree?
I once lived in US for 1 year and the supermarket was so great. You can get many good food in cheap price. Also, eat the western style meal can make the babe stronger. My sister in VanCover asked my to eat western meal...more steak, potato, milk....the babe will become super babe, Ha!

I discovered to be pregnant when I just arrived, therefore, both of our insurance will not covered all the medical expenses since my pregnant is considered as a pre-exisitng condition.
We have checked with the hospital, the routine delivery costs approx. US$5,000. It's reasonable. However, if a surgery is required, the cost maybe upto US$50,000. I will have my first visit end of this month, then we will try to bargain with the hospital to see if they can offer us a reasonable package which covers everything. (We've heard that some people did)
Though BB can have the citizenship, I don't think it is very important. I totally agree with you that if they are good enough, they will find their way.
Although the meat is good here, the variety of food is so limited. I really miss the food in HK!
