| 本港多家銀行均沒有跟隨美國減息。匯豐、恆生及中銀香港維持息率不變，最優惠利率仍為五厘，紅簿仔息率為0.01厘，五千元以下存款繼續無息收。渣打銀行息率亦不變，最優惠利率為五厘二五。 匯豐銀行執行董事王冬勝指，由於本港存款息率已近零，如果單純減最優惠貸款利率，將令息差收窄，增加銀行經營壓力。不過，如果明年經濟呈負增長，不排除息率會向下。 金管局總裁任志剛指，無論本港抑或美國，都處於極寬鬆的貨幣環境，希望銀行可以利用這個狀況，多多支持經濟，避免本港經濟下滑得太厲害。 | ||
