If you look into Toronto Sun or Toronto Star Classifed section, there are cottage rental. Price around $200 - $400 per weekend. I rented it before but one word of advice, BRING YOUR OWN FOOD.
woow, i did not expect it costs that much... are they limited to 4 people or what ? since we have only 2 people... seems not worthwhile...
but do you mind to tell me which one you rented before, then we might thinking of going with other family....
It was a 4 1/2 hours drive up north, pass Lake Simcoe to a place called Port Seven. The cottage was facing the lake and so does your water supply.
When you look up for cottage rental. Firstly, you should ask about facilities like water supply, hydro, heat or a/c (not necessary), stove, boat, fishing roe, bed, close by variety store. The owner usually ask for where you work, home number, office number, experience on cottage rental, how respondsible you do the after cleanup. If everyone is set, then pay the amount and they will give you the keys.
Great experience. If you want something close by, I suggest Rice Lake, Lake Simoe, Lake Scogger or Bosom Lake. All under 2 hours drive and close to town.
poohpoohma,
sorry to hear your experience about your carpet. unfortunately, when you deal with chinese companies, most of the time there's no service/waranty involve and that's one of the reason why if i want more expensive ework done i'd rather pay a bit more to get a reputable company to do the work.
for duct.furnace cleaning company, i use to just look at flyers and pick whatever. now that i've move to a house that i'm gonna live in for a long time and my son has sensitive skin, i decided that i'll use sears' service. they are not cheap at all. however, they pretty much guarantee you that you don't have to clean for at least 5 years. so it kinda works out the same. for us, we have 2 furnace and about 30 ducts, it costs 800 to clean the ducts and that's not including the furnace.
I rented the steam cleaner before from IGA. It's quite simple. Pour cleaning liquid, water. Turn on the power and Wa La. The technique is pull not push the hose.
But I do find it's not as clean as the commerical since they have bigger horsepower.
will anyone go for "rolling stone" next wednesday? people in my office are so excited about this (but not for me). they really don't care that they need to take the long hours back home .
If you are 'rolling stone' fans and don't want to walk 6km to the closet TTC station after the concert, CBC will be showing that night between 9pm - 11pm.
Just curious, any mom/dad here are 'rolling stone' fans?
Not me. They are too "old" for me. Mick Jagger is almost 60 yrs. old.
A Yea, I have to admit "old" as my hubby are sort of "stones" fan... we are not going to the live concert as afraid of the crowd... But yes, most of my colleagues will go. HR is quite mean - as notice being posted out to remind people to submit vacation leave rather than just going to "visit the Client" and out of the office in the afternoon...
i'm not their fans, but just curious if any chinese "stones fans". i don't have any interest to watch it on TV neither.
i'm just wondering for how long will the 430000 something people need to take in returning home/the hygienic conditions of the portable toilets (you can imagine the smells)/if the people can control themselves etc. even if i were their friends, i will not attend the live concert when thinking of the above - needless to say spending several hours in the returning trip - too horrible.
You know when we go to clinic and the nurse ask us for stool and urine sample? How about we sell those for $10/bottle? 430000 x 10 = $4,300,000. Oh, not to mention, TAX free.
Of course, you have to decorate a bit. Like putting "Rolling Stone" sticker on those medical bottle. - Great souvenir
hi, welcome back! so you are 35 weeks? you need to find yourself a dr quick. and about ultrasound, in here, they usually only give you one ultrasound at about 18 weeks. but i would assume you can go get one anytime if you are paying. there's lot of labs, where do you live? and also, we have the 4d ultrasound here too and you can try those ones too.
email/pm me if you need anything as i think i'm the only mom that's in calgary
My in-laws are going to visit me when I deliver my baby. They are living in Toronto. I heard that it costs much less to get baby wipes in Canada. Is that true? Besides baby wipes, is there any baby products (of course, I mean something that is light in weight) that I should ask my in-laws to get there? Also, any recommended website or shops to get the best price?
Oscar, you and me had the same thought. my landlord called up one of the cottage - they are charging us $800 for the long weekend - 2 bedroom (for 4 people). and we thought it is quite expensive. then give up.
