oh ... in here, usually babies get the shots from the clinic instead of from the hospital.
but sorry ... i'm not familiar with fremont. however, i heard from one of my friends that her kids used to go to the medical group across from the washington hospital when they lived in union city.

btw, i just told a friend that it might be a good investment to buy the brand new single family house in the warm spring school district in fremont - 3br starting from low 600s. i'm also not a realtor, but i just read it from the new home magazine.
the elementary schools there had API score of 900+, middle school about 800+, irvington high is just about 800 but is next to mission san jose high (the top one) in fremont.
u might also wanna check it out.

There are a few Free clinics in or around Fremont for those who do not have medical insurance. You can call 510-618-2070 for info. Here are a couple websites as well.

You can contact them to see if you are eligible.

I haven't been to any of these, so I can't give you any recommendation. After your husband finds a job, he can buy medical insurance for the entire family through his company. It depends on what insurance plan his company provides, then you can choose a pedi for your son.

Thanks, SY_Mom. The price is good for a single family home. THe town houses I have been visited so far are around middle 600,000....which is too high for us....GOod to hear that we may be able to get a single family home from low 600,000...I definitely will check it out today...thanks again.

Hi Isaac.cheng, I don't know about 6-in-one vaccine. We used to go to Kaiser and they have 3-in-one, but the clinic that we go to now doesn't have those, so my son had to get 4 separate shots at one time. It depends on the clinic and you'd better check with them.

i think in CA they only have 3-in-1; however, you might need separate shots if u only need vaccines A and B (but not C) if 3-in-1 is A+B+C.

i think most babies are ok with taking shots (like my boy when he was a baby) no matter how many shots they need. however, they might get panic when they're getter older. my boy didn't wanna take any shots and cried when he had shots at 4-yrs-old.

I will be interviewed by a company next week. If I get the job, I need to find a baby sitter or a live in nanny. Do you guys know anyone who is good or where I can find good nanny? Any advice?

I don't have any one to refer to you, but you can post an ad on Singtao Daily Newspaper. It is pretty effective. You will receive tons of phone calls, but it really takes time and luck to find the right one. http://www.singtaousa.com/

It's better if you've decided you want a live-in or 通勤 nanny and post it clearly on the ad. Another option is to put your baby in a day care center or home-based child care.

good nanny is hard to find and really depends on your luck. for myself, i didn't have any lucks for nanny or maybe my boy was too naughty.
someone didn't need her live-in nanny as her kids are all in school and she referred to my cousin-in-law. my cousin hired her immediately when it was 4 to 5 months before the bb was bornt.

for the nannies and helpers that i'd hired, i just post an ad at Sing Tao Daily News.

for the cost, i think it might cost about $1500-$1600/month ($1400 might be bottom-line) for a live-in nanny to take care of 1 kid and about $1800/month if u have 2 kids (with 1 of them goes to school). 5 days a week. usually the live-in nannies are willing to cook for dinner as they need to eat too; other than that, it'll be a bonus if they're willing to do other housework for you. just don't expect them to be the same as the maids in HK.
as they usually ask for cash instead of check, u can't take it as child care credit (tax deductible) even if u both go to work full time.
also, usually u need to provide a bedroom for her.

for non-live-in, probably costs about the same (maybe $100 less a month) but no need to provide room and food. about 9 hours a day. some are willing to cook for dinner and some aren't.

I think some moms may be interested if they are looking for 陪月, but most likely your sister has to have a tourist visa in order to stay for a few months.

unless yr sister have a visa waiver (e.g. those bornt in macau and singapore can stay in US without visa for up to 3 months), she would need to get a tourist visa. if entering US by tourist visa, she could stay 1 to 6 months depending on for how long the custom officer will let her stay. usually the first time they only let u stay for up to 1 month unless u're an elderly.

i had thought abt that option too but i didn't think it's really realistic.

How's your interview? Do you find any nanny yet? I just came across to a website that may help www.cpmcbabysteps.org It's a website of CPMC hospital. You need to register to use the resources and it's free. In the web, you can go to resources and look for daycare centers & preschools. There're 2 links that you can use to help you to find out the daycare centers nearby your homes : Children's Council of SF and Community Care Licensing. For Children Council, you can request a list online or you can call the hotline and a list will be emailed to you once ready. I asked for referral list for my son's daycare centers. You can surf in Community Care Licensing's website and get all the names and phone # of the daycare. You need to call to find out if they have vacancy to accept your son and you need to bring your son to the place and take a look.

Anything needed for help, pm your contact to me and let me know when's the most suitable time to give you a call.

I got the job and now I don't know what to do cuz I don't know where to find a good nanny for Isaac.....I even cried when I knew that I got the job....sighed....life if hard....what should I do...I will send you my cell phone no. i know how u're feeling now, coz i had a similar situation when my son's almost 2. eventually i didn't take a step ahead and still being a stay-home mom til now. actually i was a bit regreted now when that company's stock price went up to $700+ once.

r u going to work in san ramon too?

i know a couple ppl who live in san ramon but their kids used to go to family-based day-care in milpitas, as they work in milpitas and fremont.

i only heard of the preschools for those 2 or 3+, but i don't know any day-care for infants in san ramon. maybe u can hire a full-time or live-in nanny and send yr son to preschool when he's 2 or 3.
