姊妹們... 唔該又黎幫幫眼~~~~~急急急!!!

Due to my current Indonesian helper suddenly 變壞... I have no choice but have to look for 現成工人 ASAP and will etrminate my current helper once I have made the replacement.

I have interviewed 2 prospective helpers today who made me feel satisfactory. Both of them are recommended by BK mummies who gave positive comments, and with reasonable explantions for releasing her.

A --- Indonesian from Surabaya
==========================
1) speaks very fluent good accent ENGLISH
2) aged 27, married with 2 kids
3) fat and quite short, I guess around 60kg with 5fts
4) 2 yrs Singapore and 2 yrs HK experience, handling young kids in both previous employers, worked in Whampoa Garden (my home area) for 2 yrs before
5) SMA (High School graduated)
6) I found she is outspoken, cheerful and polite with lots of sincere

B ---- Filipino from Manila City
=======================
1) speaks very fluent good accent ENGLISH
2) aged 28, single
3) medium build, I guess around 50kg with 5'2fts
4) 2 yrs HK experience, handling young kids in both previous employers, worked in Laguna City for 2 yrs before
5) College graduated
6) I found she is very polite, neat and tidy. She is with short hair and unisex causual wear, 唔係貪靚扮野果d款, 感覺佢幾璞素同簡單...

My consideration:
1) will you consider a 'a-bit-fat helper'? 又唔係真係好肥既... 好似我地生完未修身咁既size啦~

2) Do you think single girl is not as secured as a married girl with 2 kids, as her family will be her burden and motivation for her to work hard for money.

咁簡 A 定 B?????? 我要快快做decision. Because both of them will be released on 1st Sept.

At first, I think married with kids is better (with the same explanation you mentioned). However, this concept is totally wrong. Like us, we will miss our kids so much (as a mother).

My first 2 maids are married with kids while the one now work with me is single. For me, if I employ another maid (after 2 contracts with the existing one), I will request single in lieu. But I prefer Indo. as my mom. helps also in my home.

A little bit fat is not a matter but her attitude is a main point. As you mentioned, both may ok. If I were you, I may choose the 2nd one lor~

(P.S. It all depends on your feeling on them -- very important)

Agreed with Holmanma. I will also choose the 2nd one who is single. Mine is also single and 24 yrs. old, I find they are more energetic and will spend more on establishing relations with the kid. My maid loves Tsz Chuen, so as Tsz Chuen does. But you definately have to put more time to observe her personal life lor. Or may be arrange her day off during you day off, i.e weekdays or Saturdays. Thank you for your advice. However, I would like to know how do you choose between hiring Filipino or Indonesian? What are the reasons behind you finally have chosen Indonesian helpers?

I am feeling very struggle here, because I want to hire Filipino as I am scared by the characters of my current Indonesian helpers who is very stupid, stubborn and narrow-minded. But among the 2 prospective helpers I posted below, seems the criteria of the (A) Indonesian helper looks more appropriate to us. However, the (B) Filipino is also good in our views.

Other mama, like CarmenYSM, clic_1221, Jasminipan, Cathy etc etc (anyone with experience in choosing helpers). Please also share your comments and advice please. Thank you!!!!

For me, my first 2 helpers of Fino. and they are quite "lazy" and also quite "stupid". My boss once advised me that "who said that Fino. must know english?" "who said that Fino. is clever than Indo.

" "The Fino. helpers are most from rural area and their mother language is not english". (note, my boss changed his maid 1x in the first two years time

, and he already warned me that "you better prepare to you'd employ ~4 maids before you settle

:tongue:)So, at last, I try the Indo. and now this maid is much much clever than the previous two and very willing to learn new things. I ask her to play flash cards (power point) to holman recently. Whenever she sees something new (no matter food, holman's toys, educational materials, etc., she feels very excited and happy)

Besides, she can communicate with my mom better (my mom only knows a limited english).

She really change my mind that "Fino. is smarter and better english than Indo." -- wrong mind.

其實我覺得唔關種族問題,印尼都有聰明人,菲律賓亦有蠢人,最主係妳INTERVIEW完佢地之後,妳覺得邊個好D咁解,有時D人話搵D結左婚好D喎,但其實一樣有問題,佢自己有小朋友就會有HOME SICK,有老公仲麻煩佢地D老公好多時都不咁寂寞搵第二個,我之前有幫我爸爸請過兩個工人,一個印尼一個菲律賓,佢地兩個老公都識左第二個,制到成日係度口喊苦喊忽.但好處係有負擔同生過小朋友有經驗.單身就冇負擔.所以結左婚定未結過婚都唔需要去考慮,正如上次我講過妳小朋友已經唔係bb,所以佢有冇經驗都唔係咁重要,最緊要妳睇佢個人有冇張happy face,最憎人黑口黑面冇d笑容,對小朋友有冇愛心,但最終都係要睇自己彩數o羅. I hired Ind. maid as people told me they would follow the employer more when compare to Filipino. The main point is their holidays are also less, of course this is illegal, but my maid is willing to be paid instead of hanging around during her holidays. In fact, I don't have much things for her to do, but it is much more chances for her to know bad friends during holidays, so if she doesn't take holidays, then I feel much better. My maid is OK and also clever, 話頭醒尾, my family said she is also 純真, my mum likes her very much. But I just afraid she is too smart. So I always wash her brain and tell her not too know bad friends and I afraid she will be cheated.

好開心妳依家有兩個幾好既工人揀緊。

妳一開始問既問題, 我諗我都會揀第二個, 但同其他媽咪所講一樣, 面對面既感覺好重要, 仲有妳有無帶charmaine一齊去見, 佢地對charmaine既態度又係點樣都要重要。
我就表面睇而決定第二個既原因, 一來我係果d會介意佢少少肥同矮既人, 不過都要視乎佢行動敏唔敏捷, 有d肥人都可以好敏捷。如果肥到抱小朋友都辛苦既話, 咁點要求佢追住小朋友來照顧佢。
另外, 我又諗到一樣野, 第一個工人已經係黃埔做左兩年, 會唔會已經建立好多朋友網絡, 驚唔驚佢落一次街, 街頭傾到街尾(不停遇到人)。
而印/菲既問題, 我始終都鐘意請菲傭多d, 雖然我未請過印, 同聽過有好印既例子, 但就我屋企附近所見既工人, 菲真係活潑開朗好多, 即使唔識佢都成日笑笑口, 打招呼, 鐘意撩小朋友既多, 反而印唔知係唔係因為佢地膚色黑d, 梗係覺得佢地無咩笑容, 木口木面咁。

哩兩個工人有無得俾妳試工呀,如果有真係好好多, 妳試下要求下呀~! 一來做點樣做野真係可以睇到d架。

ai........ I am very bad lucky in getting helpers!!!!!!

for the 1st choice - Indonesian... since her employer terminated her after her 1 month service due to her employer's existing helper changed her mind to recontract, her employer would rather to release her as needless to train/adapt a new helper! In this case, even I like her so must, this Indo helper must go back to her home and wait for the visa approval and all procedures in my name again!!! That means I have to wait until November, which is too late for me!

The 2nd one - Filipino, she answered me she picked another family with better offer...........

Can you all see how bad luck I am ?!!!?!???!? :-( :-( :-( I feel very helpless here~~

I desperately need a helper ASAP now!!! If anyone can offer me some help will be very appreciated and made me feel thankful!!!!!

I have to terminate my existing Indonesian helper since she is very bad to us and 學壞左... we have a big quarrel on Monday night and I have to find the replacement ASAP and terminate her.............. :-(

Sorry to hear that you maid is getting worse and for not able to answer you question when choosing the previous two potential maids early due to my internet access has been down for a while.

I will try to ask around friends and my maid too to see if they have any good recommendations for you.

As for choosing from Philipino and Indonesian, I always choose Indo at the end cos I don't think I can handle Phili. As you know my first one is extremely horrible and actually I was only trying my luck this time. Just base on the experience of hiring only 2 maids in total, I find that those been working in Singapore is much better. Those who have handle big family or rich family is definitely capable in doing the housework fast, but those from rich families may waste more material (no need to teach time basic household machine usage and cleaning method though). Mind has a child and had been taking care of two older kids in the previous employer, she teaches Natasha quite a few things already and read books with her (even though her pronouciation is already much better than most Indo, but still not very good). But I think what matter most is she can finish the work and love our baby and teach them at the same time and of course our baby love her too. All the perfect pronouciation for whatever languages is actually secondary issues since she will difinitely learn some school or from us at a latter stage.

Thank you very much for your kind help!! Please keep an eye for me if you see any good helper who is available. I am searching among the agencies these few days, however, I lose trust on agencies, they are usually very hard-selling and want to earn money only~

妳係咪請本地到期o個d呀?我新工人做左個幾星期,初初幾日我比左個time table佢跟,點知佢剩係鍾意同我個仔玩,其他野都係咁而就算,跟住我心諗死啦又請個衰工人返o黎點算呢!仲同老公商量炒佢,但後來同佢傾過佢話以前個顧主唔理佢,亦都冇time table由得佢自由發揮,咁我同佢講我唔可以咁,如果妳想留低係度做就要跟我的方法,第一二日佢跟個scheudle做真係做到死下死下,可能未試過咁辛苦啦!但可能做做下慣左依家都叫做ok啦!希望佢唔好有頭威冇尾陣啦!
