No, the law for 外籍傭工 is even better than HK employee.

My new maid arrived just for 3 weeks and the whole family suffered for 3 weeks! I don't mind they are stupid but I do really care that they are dishonest and not responsible! In fact, I don't think they are stupid. If you try not to pay them on time, they will definitely remember and keep asking!

Ask 勞工處 about 'Fire' her and the staff told me I have to give/pay 1 month notice! I argued why it allows employer provide 7 days notice for HK employee in probation period, why it doesn't apply to overseas maid?!

We pay tax to support 勞工處 but 勞工處's rule protect overseas maids!

We either accept the maid no matter how bad she is or pay $3670+holidays+$100 trip allowance+air ticket+time to arrange a new maid! The worse is working moms don't even have enough time to take care kids but still have to spend time handling those maids!

Also, we have to buy medical insurance for them! So many HK employee doesn't have medical insurance!

我都支持!

雖然我請既印傭都幾好, 但我都覺得政府無咩野保障比僱主, 我聽人講工人有左BB都唔可以炒, 咁請個工人黎做咩??? 工人稅就識得收, 仲咁貴添! :-(
我都明白有d僱主對工人唔好, 但亦有工人對僱主唔好, 呢個世界咩野人都有, 所以政府應該要定D公平D既法例唔好只係偏幫工人啦!
請一個工人等於要養多一個女, 除左要教佢又要包食包住, 仲要包醫藥費, 所以要另外比錢同佢買保險, 我好同意jazzmama講政府應該比工人免稅額我地呀!

各位MUM,
有沒有義氣人士草擬一封信,讓我們全體【一人一信】去未來特首曾先生/立法會各議員/或民建聯也好,為我們一班被工人玩死的香港MUM出頭,要求政府更改外傭制度,不要讓她們來港自由行完取走個通知金+機票後數月後又來港玩嘢。

Dear all moms here,

I totally support this issue. Any political party can help us? No protection for employers of foreign domestic helpers.

The issue about DH's pregant but cannot terminate the contract, most families in HK can afford one maid only, how they can take care of our children & families? Any space for their new born baby? Is it practical for busy working couples (I suppose most foreign DH employers are busy working couples)? Can we afford? Totally crazy.

Many employers, especially large corporations do all their best to enhance employees' performance (increase workload and no pay OT), but no salary increase, no double-pay (even gain lot of profits and good performance), however, when we have to work on holiday, we have to request our maids to work (sometimes they are unwilling to do so) and pay them.

No probation period - some may come to HK just for vacation, intentiionally perform very poor, then get payment-in-lieu of notice. Free trip, free accommodatin & food (bring my food and drinks go out on holidays) + pay + air tickets + 100% medical coverage. How many employees in HK get 100% medical coverage????????????

Minimum salary - why no minimum salary for foreign domestic helpers in many countries. Local people also do not have minimum salary. If they cannot accept the salary, they will not come. Why our government give us so many restrictions?

How Sir Donald Tsang encourage more birth, 3 children? What policy our government can help us?

Those get government subsidy want to get more money for their children to join extra-circular activities. tutorial class (in fact they gain more than some working people), they can stay at home to take care of children but want to get more from tax payers. We have to go to work, can only give very short time to our children, no local people willing to work as DH (due to long hours and their available time cannot match with ours as our working hours are quite long and back home late), but govt do very little to help us.

All moms here, any constructive suggestions or what we can do????????

重有呀, 工人有大病都唔可以炒佢, 我之前請個工人黎左一個月睇左四, 五次醫生先照埋 x 光先知佢子宮有個7cmx9cm既瘤要即刻做手術, 咁既 case 我地都唔炒得佢重要服待埋佢, 出埋糧比佢養病, 都唔知乜道理

香港既勞工署真係不知所謂, 如果唔係要搵食, 勞工署以為我地真係好恨用工人咩
工人我都唔覺佢地真係死蠢架, 佢地扮野、偷懶都唔知幾精 :-x , 僱主就算頂唔順都冇試用期, 一樣要俾機票同一個月人工 (究竟憑mug) 先可以請佢走, 但期間整爛屋企d野又冇得賠喎
有冇人研究下鄰近其他地方的海外工人條例, 整理出來同勞工署抗議, 我一定支持

佢地有公會撐佢地,其實我地都要有個公會頂番佢地。

另,贊成外僱有外僱例,保護香港市民為優先

去信勞工處是沒有用的,這處是偏向勞工/工人的地方。
我們草擬一封信後,應去勢力大的官員落手,他們要得市民支持度或想爭取連任,都會出下力吧!

Agencies normally side on domestic helpers as they earn money from DHs, not from employers. Also, if any grievence betwen DHs and employers, those agencies worry their consulates will get them into trouble. It seems no organisation represents employers of foreign domestic helpers. That organisation mentioned before not for employers but represents employment agencies.

As employees, our employers will not increase our remuneration if it is competitive. Why DHs' salary in HK is restricted but not determine by market rates. Moreover, the salary of local part-time maid is too high, $50/hr., many university graduates' salaries are lower than this rate.

We just mentioned our concern in Baby-Kingdom is insufficient. If you find it really want to improve our situation, must bring this issue to some mass-media or political parties (they want to get votes).
