Yes, it's possible, our shipment actually arrived Sydney in 2 weeks, and it took another 2 weeks for quarantine and went through the customs (one thing to note is if you take up the whole container by yourself is faster but if you share and have to wait for other to fill up the container may take longer).
if you want to buy second hand stuff i suggested gumtree.com.au. it's like ebay but the beauty of it is - you don't need to pay before you buy, it's just like an advertising page for people to post what they want to sell, if you want to buy those stuff, you can just contact the seller and arrange accordingly.
btw, if you need to buy second hand stuff, better to hire a trailer from petrol station... do you know how to drive with trailer?
These days I have signed the quotation with the shipping company as I told to you. This is my first time to have such a BIG BIG relocation, hope everything go smooth. Some of you also ask me to give an overall comments after complete delivery and assembly. Sure I understand what you want, as I was the same woman, trouble mommy and consumer made from God. OK I would drop the comments once finish. =) Hope my information would give you ideas, no matter good or not good experience.
it is quite hard to drive with a trailer, first of all, your car need a tow bar then you need to control the trailer which has load of stuff in it.
If you cant manage a trailer, i suggest you to hire someone to move the stuff for you. I found someone from the chinese newspaper before and it costs around $50/hr, if you hire aussie, it costs more than $80/ hr.....
hi, I will be settled in Sydney in Jan 2011, would you plese advise me which transportation co (delivery good to there) would be most good (chaeap + safety!!). Up to now, I do not have any idea.
Hi there, I came here in 2009 and used Regal World. Some 网友 said they're Okay but my experience was not pleasant. We bought a brand new piano and paid extra money for an extra 木箱 to protect it. Upon arrival we discovered there was no 木箱 to be found and a few inches long 戒刀痕 on the piano which was obviously made during packing. Luckily we bought extra insurance for the piano but we still spent so much time to deal with Regal. Put it this way, we had 3 quotes and Regal was the cheapest. If you don't have any delicate items Regal is Okay.
