I think it's now difficult to ask people to buy for you 'cos most airlines just let you check 1 luggage. Unless your friend is a frequent traveler or he/she has more luggage allowance ( ie elite membership!)

yes i know that's the practice of the airlines now.

well, if you're not very close with that friend, of course it's not nice to ask him to bring such heavy item for you lah!
