kittylock,
So, have you heard Cambridge storybook phonics which are also available in ETC, which one is better (Songbirds or CSP)As the cambridge storybook phonics talking stories cd-rom seems quite good
but both cd-rom and books are quite expensive

Holmanma,
I haven't heard of "The Oxford Essential Reading". Are they phonics books?
btw, I know ORT SongBirds has just been published last week and plan to buy a pack:
Make Phonics fun with Oxford Reading Tree's NEW Songbirds
Songbirds is a NEW complete programme to teach and practise systematic phonics brought to you from the nation's favourite reading scheme, Oxford Reading Tree.
Songbirds contains 36 beautifully written real phonic stories, from best-selling author of The Gruffalo, Julia Donaldson. With 6 stories at Stages 1+ to 6, these books will not only engage your children but they are also fully decodable and support a systematic, synthetic approach to phonics!

I had a bad night last night -
piglet's nose bled twice.
He was scared and confessed that he took some $ from his "bank" (under $5) to buy "hot air" snacks at school.Asked me not to
him.
Nose bleeding + test today + too warm ==> squirming in bed for most of the night.
No eye see his test !![]()

kittylock, gloriachung,
I went to greenfield and bought the sets of Essential tonight. Originally, I want to buy Pack A first but finally I bought all Packs A-C :-P As I want to buy some books other than ORT and the story was:
When the teacher (NET) read ORT stage 1 (Six in a bed) at school on wed., my son said "Holman is boring"![]()
The NET change the book immediately. (indeed, my son can already read this book by himself -- maybe he only recognises the picture but not the words)
