It's a good news. I just thought before that only children born after the parent have become a citizen an automatically get the citizenship.

Thanks so much for your reply and valuable information. What is selective school?

Every state has selective school.. Before I thought that there are only private or public. Samuellor, you mentioned that teenagers in Brisbane are not well educated. I am thinking to let my sons to study public schools (very expensive for private schools especially for secondary schools and enjoying the benefits of citizenship

)... wondering whether the quality is bad (meaning quality of school and students) what do you think?

I lived in Brisbane before for 3 yrs.. indeed, it is quite boring, small and old. not much exciting in terms of shopping, dining and other leisure..Oh, even Perth is better? Before I thought Perth is similar to Brisbane! For sydney and melbourne, i guess the living costs are higher, such as houses.

As Samuellor mentioned earlier that even the dirty job has good reward. That's why teenagers don't have initiative to study and the layback culture is established. I am also thinking about when is the suitable time to let my sons come over to study.. really headache

After coming to aussie, it will be very hard to learn chinese, even with tutor class.

Samuellor, what kind of primary school will u consider for your daughter? local private / int'l school?

So is it hard to enter selective schools? Long waiting list and interview and tests are required for entrance?? I am also interested in situation in Brisbane, are selective schools only for secondar, how about any selective primary?

It's good to hear that your girls enjoy and have wonderful school life in HK. May I know whether it is private / public / international primary. I am still thinking about this, if for public, it is cheaper, but there must be more pressure from tests, exams, etc. if for int'l, it's expensive and difficult to get in those with more chinese learning. May I share your views? Thanks

Regarding the jobs, yes, they don't quite care about qualifications... at that time, I could only get contract jobs, they count experience more. For accounting field, as Jaydendad said, maybe Sydney has more opportunities.
