The triple (OSCAR) test is so called "triple" coz the results of the two blood tests and the nuchual thickness are to be interpretated together to maximize the specificity of this test.

Only judging from the nuchual thickness alone won't be very accurate gar!

Don't scare yourself too early ah.

Sorry. A bit misleading.

There's triple test and quadraple test where you tests different kinds of blood in the mother, but usu the results are interpretated with the USG nuchual thickness.

Amniocentesis (抽陽水) risk is 1/2 of that of CVS (抽絨毛). But for CVS, it can be done at an earlier stage of pregnancy, so this is its advantage. Of course, both procedures are operator dependent. So it's important to find a good obstetrician if it is to be done. There is a professor in the UK who's so good that his risk of complication = 0% gar.

由於抽絨毛流產機會高過抽羊水一陪, 而小b情況才剛剛穩定, 我不敢冒險0甘快(14 week 前)就抽絨毛. 剛問過cyn, 如果羊水量夠,原來可以早些抽羊水(16 or 17 week), 而在政府抽(港島區)也可加錢做快速測試, 只驗有關的三對DNA先, 三日有口頭結果. 我會下星期有OSCAR報告後向QEH要求, 希望都可以快些知道.
