salvation army's kinder is a happy one and they apply Mont's theory re. practical life area quite well. but I m not sure if they use the theory in other aspects. My husband's colleague's son is now in K3 in one of the salvation army's kinder. but the boy is still learning counting. and the parents r not aware of any Mont's tools in learning the maths. and language area of the kinder is also another weakness.
if kids will go to local primary school (no matter those so-called elite ones or common ones), they will quite likely face some pressure to adapt becoz the gap is quite huge (v.s. other so-called famous kinder w/ lots of HW, etc)
but if you believe that 0-6 years' education should not be the way the so-called famous kinder's doing. go ahead!
a way out is to supplement the kinder's curriculum w/ your own reading scheme and language pg. the boy's english standard is quite gd, even better than those from famous kinder becoz his mum spends a lot of time to train him read. he's admitted by one of those DSS primary school.
