Actually, in general you eithe get vvv proud kids (and parents), or very poor (all-roundedly poor) kids and parents. Few are in the middle.

(but not to live).
And I expect the living standard to be quite high ($$$$$).
An oasis in the desert, built with $$$$$.

Searched TRUs and Hamleys, but few Lego woh (my yardstick hehe).

Piglet went for annual eye check at 盲人輔導會
fortunately still a little bit of 遠視 left (touch wood)
no 近視
but started to have 散光 (25o) !

Piglet asked me what 散光 is,
told him :
there is actually 1 $1 coin but you see 2 or more $1 coins :lol

He also told me that bully had 散光and/or近視after playing for 1 month with an online computer game which flashed strong lights a lot, and had to wear specs.

I really don't like PSP / Gameboy (kids had to squint for a long time when they play), online games and TV.

Instead of online games, we now encourage him to build Lego on the net, you need to go to lego.com to download a software (lego designer) and then can build using a lot of virtual lego bricks. Good for designing Lego models, for free !
At least this one doesn't flash !

called you yesterday when I was in PTU wanchai but no one answer. I placed order for street corner and some other castle series (those old ones). Have to wait for weeks to check my luck, not much stock available in the shop.

Hi BS,

I should have replied you earlier but our hotel charged a fortune for internet access. So, did not access internet for the past few days. Free access is only avail on Orchard Road and airport.

I am now in Changi Airport, waiting for the flight A380 back to Hong Kong. Holidays are almost over...

Are you leaving on 20 Aug? I will ask my husband to pass the card to you on Monday. Thanks very much.

Hi Bluestar and buddies,

The trip lasted 5 days. Actually just 3 days or so for sightseeing or shopping as the flights are morning flights.

Not much harvest. The price is not really attractive as the forex is now 5.3 or 5.4.

Yeah, a few Starwar goodies on sale. Like orig. $ 299. now $199. However, my son does not like Starwars. He chose 4 ugly Bionicle and a minifig (gunner) at the end. You are right, the Lego T-shirt is so cheap. Just $15. But have bought just one piece 'cos afraid the size cannot accomodate him for so long. He's inflating, in particular, after this Sing trip.

The temperature in Sing is hot but not so uncomfortable as in HK. HK is more humid. Ducktours and Sing Flyer are good. Good experiences. Sing people are more united, obedient and disciplined than HK. The huge development work @ Marina Bay is good evidence. We have tremendous problem even for demolishing the little Queen's Pier.

Hi BS,

Just stayed in the Popular in Tiong Bahru Plaza for an hour last night. Bought a few comic books published by Sing local authors and a Ben 10 comic book.

Found an Asean version of the Olympiad Math Contest Problems. $44. but 10% off with Popular card.

I could not have enough time to find appropriate English supplementary ex. in Popular. If you have time and if it will not cause you much trouble, please help me to hunt some Eng. supplementary ex. I want to find one with mixed tenses. You know what I want la...

Moroever, the Lego shop at Marina Square has been closed. We went to Ngee Ann City at the end. I have taken a new biz card for you. I'll ask my husband to pass to you.

No problem with Lego T-shirts, any colour preference ? No 150/160. Better make it Adult-S or Adult-M size, more likely Adult-S.

Actually the kids size are usually sold at discount, ~HK$80 last time, I could find largest size for ages 9/10 to fit piglet still, but nothing larger than that for kids size. Also bought 1 adult-M for myself, which piglet is wearing nowadays, but quite large for him, ~$200.

I thought previously that the Plaza Singapura shop was to be closed, but recently found out that they were closing the Marina Sq one instead, The MS one was the 1st one I found then got to know the other shops.

Lego t-shirt for Ages 9/10 still fits piglet woh (but slightly meaty / fleshy showing a lot of flat under the cloth) with some room becos its cotton.
If you regret not having bought one I can still buy for you ga.

- Maybe I copy a few pages from my book and pass it to your hb pls compare and see if they're the same.
I haven't been to the T Bharu Popular, is it a large shop ? The ones I've been to are Toa Payoh and Centre Point, the Toa Payoh one has a lot of suppl ex and textbooks, the other one smaller and less textbooks.
One Engl suppl ex from Sing which I use is called " Just Clinic series" and "Just Distinction" series. If you have time / ask your hb to go to 3-Luen to take a look. I know they can be found in HK recently but still cheaper than Sing so if I don't have much to carry this time I will mainly target on TB and suppl ex.

Re the Lego T, I bought one la. Actually, my son doesn't care much about his appearance. He can still wear my old T-shirts at home and even his sister's old Hello Kitty T without any complaints. He really doesn't mind about other people's comments on his appearance. But fun is the most important to him.

I do not know where is where in Sing. I dumped the list of Popxlar shops with me and found Tiong Bahru shop is the nearest to our hotel and is just one MRT station next to us. The shop is not big at all. Even smaller and less organized than the one in Shatin. I do not know where Centre Point is. Is it on Orchard Road or near to it?

I was a bit disappointed when I saw the Lego shop at Ngee Ann City. The scale is not impressive. Similar to the size of Brickshop at CWB.

The Japanese bookshop named starting with "K" in Ngee Ann City is really big, very impressive. Lots of English books but not cheap at all.

The PageOxx in Vivo City is much bigger than those in HK. So many English books... But we just wonder there are not many Sing authors...Probably, such bookstores are not the right place to find books written by Sing authors.

Actually, Sing is not very diff from HK. Food Republic is everywhere. I could not find Pendan cake. Fortunately, had one on the return flight. But no surprise... I like the 肉骨茶. Is it the correct version that it tastes like 楜椒湯?

We went to Lau Pa Sat, near the financial center. After eating inside the building, we went outside and ate Satay. It is really very interesting experience to sit and eat in the centre of the street, which is full of cars during the day.

The Sing Zoo is terrific. It is well maintained. It is the most open zoo that I have ever been. All the animals except a few dangerous species are free to move about without a cage. We can even see squirrels climbing the trees surrounding us... We love this zoo more than the others like those in Taiwan, Shenzhen, Melbourne...

We did not have the time to go to Sentosa, try the foot spa, China Town, Little India and a lot... Maybe we have to visit Sing again.

BTW, for my curiosity. Do we entitle for GST refund when buying Lego over $100? I could not find the Tax Free Shopper sign outside the Lego shop. Moreover, I forgot to check at the airport.
