my baby is pulling out after few minutes and then crying because he still wants milk but he sort of refuses nursing.. then i have to switch side and then he pulls out after few minutes again.. have to soothe him to continue.. but i check the milk throw (lactation) is still good.. this happens on and off after his top 2 teeth came out.. not sure if it is related or some other reasons..
i'm about to stop nursing too.. as my baby doesn't seem to have the patience to drink and is not gaining weight... originally i have to complete nursing him for a full first year but now i don't think i can.. and i don't want to express milk...
Have you tried to express milk to check how much milk you have now? You said your bb pull out after few minutes, may be she/he already finished one side already. Try to express milk after bb's pull out to see how much milk you left. I think I get less milk now, my bb will finish one side in a few minutes.
Here is the feeding schedule of my bb for your reference :
07:00 milk (direct feeding)
11:00 congee with veg /cereal with fruit
15:00 7 - 8 oz milk (bottle feeding)
19:00 congee with veg and meat
19:30 express milk after work for the next day (3-4 oz for cereal, another 7-8 oz for bottle feed)
10:00 milk (direct feeding : I think not much as I express milk at 20:00pm) and sleep
00:00 - 2:00 milk (direct feeding) and sleep
yes my baby also finished feeding about 10-15 minutes both sides before this happens..
originally i want to breastfeed 100% for a full 1st year.. then changed to partial for last week.. but yesterday marked the last date of nursing because my baby refuses breastfeeding completely.. he is self weaning from breastmilk.. changed to formulae entirely today..
