I only have 1 little brother, and he's here in the UK as well, my mum & dad lives here most of the time but they go back to HK quite alot, like this time they've been back since June!!

Not been back for 6 years

do you miss it?? I tried to go back every 1-2 years

Everytime, I go back I just eat, eat and eat

Not too bothered with changing my name either, I said I will do it after my passport runs out!!

Not been back ...

Before I had kids, I went to HK every year! (I have been here for 11 years and have kids for 7 years!)
But after having kids, everything just changed! I just need to consider the kids first! Like now Kiyomi is at full day school, I can only go during school holidays (x'mas, easter, summer holiday). I will not take kids on holiday if they have school (though some parents will).

And you know air tickets are the most expensive during school holiday!!!! So it is not that easy now!

After living here for so long, I just get used to it and not miss HK as much as I did!

If my parents are coming to visit me from time to time. I feel it is fine!

My digestive system is getting very bad these few years (maybe after having kid, the health just get worse + getting old). That's why I don't miss the food in HK! as even if I have chance to eat, I may have diarrhea?!

OIC, yes kids must come first and school is important as well~you're very good mummy

I know about the air fares, they can be really expensive during school holidays

I'm going back during Chinese new year and I was surprised as its only cost us £370

I love food too much, I can never go on a diet~

BBC living in HK is no problem, my ex-boss is the same case: can speak but can't read/write. When she first started, her Cantonese is terrible and made lots of jokes...but she can still communicate with us and the 'small potatoes' in the dept. Many of our big bosses are gwei so she actually has an advantage there. Something a little bit funny...when someone leaves her a voice message with phone no in Cantonese, she very often can't take it down!!! However, she has no problem getting around in her daily lives.

Yes, our dream is to win the lottery and we can leave the UK the next day, so hubby never stop playing the lotto...

I met him when I was a student here. After I graduate, returned to HK and we lost touch. I found his contacts one day and I was planning a trip back here. So we met up again. Finaly I decided to quit my job and come here for some quiet lives...that's why I'm here la.
