I have called the visa & migration office i the afternoon. Waited for about 10 min. before the operator receives my call. Before is the extract of our conversations:
I haven't apply the Child Migration for my son yet. Acutally, I need to apply the HKSAR passport first (maybe next week) then I will apply the Child Migration. As I want to tavel to Mel in Dec so I hope everything can process smoothly.
我個仔出年2歲, I plan to settle in Boxhill, do you think I need to find the Child care centre now? I haven't been to Boxhill so I think I need to have a look look in Dec. If I settle in Boxhill, do you have any good Child care centre 介紹比我? Can I make the reservation in Hong Kong? Do I need to pay any money to make the reservation??
Box hill is a very popular place so the waiting list for the Child Care is always long.
Like myself, my son still hasn't got a place as we have been to Mel for 7 months (we are livinig in Box Hill now). So I think you better put your son's name down on the waiting list when you travel to Mel this Dec.
I think most of the Childcare are similar, um..maybe the most important thing is find the one which near your house. So as you said, "come and have a good look in Dec."
So do you know how long will you stay here for in Dec? Don't forget the foreigners will get more relax during Dec (coz X'mas, boxing day..) = that means no mood to work.....
pigpig,
Don't be too upset. In fact I got the similar case as yours....I need to take care of my 2 kids all by myself (only 4 of us in Mel, no other relatives in here.)
Many people think being a full-time mami is a "lost" job, coz we need to work 24/7 (non-stop), no salary, no holiday, no sick leave....even worser than the maids as they got salary and holiday.
But when you think more deeply, being a full-time mami is a wonderful thing: you can watch your child grow up step by step;
when your child is hungry, you can feed her/him by yourself;
when your child is sleepy, you can hold her/him go to sleep.
when your child is happy, you can laugh with him/her
I did feel very down before as my husband always work until very late(because too tired, too stressful). 無晒時間? Yes, I can't even do my own thing...But I think once our children get more older, then we can have more free time....
For our husbands, I think they feel as tired as us because they need to work very hard everyday, WHY? because they want us to have a better lifes.
So sister, don't be :-( , everyday is a wonderful day!! And all of the sisters here will support you!!!
