Yes, I've also ordered some of the Math Matter books as it seems that this series is for more younger kid.

As the books has not yet been delivered, I will post my opinion upon receipt.

Yes, I've already solved the problem and know the method of posting book pictures from book websites.

However, I still dunno how to post my own picture (e.g. picture of my son or toys) which I saved in yahoo albumn.

Hello Kittylock and 小樹熊,

There are Dymocks in Central (StarFerry, IFC and Prince Building), Causeway Bay (Windsor House) and Wanchai (Hopewell Centre and Harbour Centre). The one I visited yesterday is in Prince Building.

You're great that you buy the set of mathstart books. I am still 1516 as they are quite expensive.

I was once willing to spend hundreds of dollars to buy ORT, 我自己會讀 series. Once I adhere to Chinese version books. I become much more conservative in buying US or HK editions as I am waiting / dreaming that these books will offer Chinese version soon... :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

Just received some books from Hongniba.

Though their delivery cost is higher and they can only send books to my office (as my home address is outside their delivery region), their delivery is quick and their packing is nice (they use bubble to wrap all books to avoid damage).

Moreover, I found the books from them is much more clean than that of dangdang.

It's really another good alternative to dangdang in ordering children books from mainland China.

I have placed the order this week too, but 3 items have to transfer from Beijing, so Mr. Tsui told me to wait until next Wednesday. I don't think their delivery cost is high, I have order 10 items and the delivery charges is $50 only, already including transfer the books from Beijing. But, comparing to dangdang, they only accept HK$.

For all the above books, hongniba charged me $100 for the delivery, almost 10% of the cost of books.

After you've placed your order thru their web, they will send you email confirming your order and the amount you required to pay (incl. books and delivery charge).

Then you need to bank in the money required to their designated account :

What's the delivery charges for this lot of books from Hongniba?

Is it cheaper than ordering from DD?
(Because, if we order books from DD, each book item needs to pay $1. So the delivery charge from DD should be over $1XX!)

Just overlook, $100 for delivery charge is reasonable.

Did they offer you extra 10% discount for ordering books over $1000? (I think your lots of books costs over $1000 though I didn't calculate it.)

Hi FXPC,

Hongniba do not have their own delivery section. They have to hire a local transport agent to do the delivery for customers. So the delivery charge is calculated on the weight basis (based on no. of kg) instead of the per item basis like dangdang.

The basic charge of the transport agent is HK20, thereafter they will charge HK$5 for each kg of books.

As some of the books I ordered from Hongniba are hard cover, hence they are quite heavy and total delivery charge was $100 last time (seems quite expensive!!)

btw, I prefer order books from Hongniba to dangdang because the books from Hongniba is very clean and wrapped nicely.

However, as Hongniba is focused on books, they do not have VCD/CD/DVD being sold online at the moment.

Yes, my order is just over $1000 but they do not give 10% extra discount to me.

How do you know that there's extra discount? Think I need to chase the money back... :lol: :lol:

红泥巴受理团购的订单吗？

从公布之日起，红泥巴可以受理集团购买的订单，以每订单的实际成交金额1000元为起限，不论是个人或团体。具体规定如下：

1 每订单成交金额满1000元以上的，可按团购标准来操作，不足1000元的则按会员价计算；

2 符合团购标准的订单，可在正常会员价的基础上下调一定折扣：折扣在80%（含80%）以上的下调10%，折扣在80%以下的下调5%（不含开票价），已经是特价和阶段性促销价的不再下调；

3 集团购买一律走汽运，货到电话通知自提，运费按实际发生额由购买方支付；汽运不通畅的地区可以通过邮局邮寄，邮费同样也是按实际发生额由购买方支付；

4 集团购买采用邮寄形式的订单，先按会员价付款，差额部分扣除邮费后转成余额；

5 受理订单后，开始备书。款到后24小时内发书。汽运一般需要4~6天，邮寄通常7~10天。

I think $100 delivery charge is quite reasonable. As there are totally ~ 100 books (rough estimation) in your order, if we place an order on DD with the same book the delivery charge will be $30 + $1X100 => that will be > $1xx!!!

(By the way, most of these books title are not available on DD. I love some of the titles but I was unable to find them on DD before!!! Hongniba will be another great place for us to buy children books!!!)

I've just called their GZ office to clarify the additional 10% bulk purchase discount matter.

The said the rule is only applicable to "Beijing Office" instead of "GZ office" as 10% additional discount will cause difficulty in their operation due to slim profit.

btw, the staff of Hongniba promised to follow up the matter with their head office to see whether they can do something.

Have just contacted Ms. Fong of New Idea. It is confirmed that the org. price of Reading Rainbow was wrongly marked due to the OUP agent's mistakes.

For someone who has bought "Reading Rainbow" from New Idea before, you may bring back your purchase receipt to Ms. Fong asking for a refund for the price difference.

List of wrong price in New Idea (and other bookstores e.g. Popular):
1) Level 1 : $180 ---> $130
2) Level 2 : $184 ---> $130
3) Level 3 : $188 ---> $130
4) Level 4 : $192 ---> $140
5) Level 5 : $196 ---> $140
6) Level 6 : $200 ---> $140

And now New Idea is offering 20% off as usual, hence the new price for the whole RR set will become $648. They are still the cheapest among other book stores.
