Very detailed piece of information. Thank you very much.
North West Hills district part of Sydney also has good high schools but public transport is terrible. Still there are loads of people who like near Baulkham Hills, Castle Hill, Kellyville, North Rocks, Cherrybrook, Dural etc. Castle Hill has a massive shopping centre that still doesn't have parking fees unlike Parramatta, Macquarie and Chatswood, Straithfield and Top Ryde so lots of people like living in Castle Hills and surrounding suburbs for a good lifestyle. Now there are better transport services going into the city with the hills bus services, express services into the City. If you are new to Sydney, living the Hills District is quite nice, my Mum really enjoys the Hills District Chinese Women Association, you have yumcha, classes, talks, trips and you can learn English, make new friends etc. Btw, Chi Lam went to school at Epping Boys and his mum still lives in Sydney
As Epping has macquarie shopping centre, St Ives and Chatswood uses the Chatswood shopping centre like Chatswood Westfield and Chatswood Chase. Strathfield will use the local Strathfield Westfield etc. In Australia do note you would need a car unlike HK, so a lot more people do grocery shopping probably once or twice a week, they use the car for work and for driving the kids to and back from work.

I have also heard that Epping boys high school is good. However, I am afraid that bullying is severe ...
In Australia, all asians will be stereotyped as nerds good in maths and music. In Sydney, I have to admit the asians stick together, etc etc. Also Sports is EXTREMELY important for boys growing up, especially in a public high school as this helps them to fit in etc. I didn't have any direct experience with Epping Boys, I only had friends from the single sex high school and they were all selective so it wasn't a problem as they were are academically focus and well disciplined.
But in the end of the day bullying will occur in selective, girl, boys or private school. Bullying occurred in Pymble in my grade for a long time, but I never suffered. I just think it's more important to see what the school does about it. I assume you are referring to this, this is just about extremism etc: http://www.smh.com.au/nsw/radica ... 0150724-gijum2.html
Perhaps you have to visit the school to see what it is like or ask other local mums about what the school is like. I think using baby kingdom is NOT enough as this is a HK forum not a local Sydney one, Try and use whirlpool to find out as a lot of parents use the below to ask about education etc.
There are some great public high schools out there. I have to admit in Sydney, single sex high schools are better. Some high crime rates suburbs, I still knew people who did well, but they too were asian and did tonnes of coaching at North Shore or James An. Those girls SURVIVED on their own, they went to Bankstown Girls. Their school had plenty of discipline issues like drugs, gangs, mis behaviour and most kids leave at Year 10 and some even have teenage pregnancy. Basically in Australia if you do live in socio-economically lower classed suburbs, the Asians still attend the local school, they just rely on tutoring to do well and they have to do everything on their own as their teachers have to deal with majority of the students being in trouble. However these students do well in tertiary education because they have trained themselves as independent learners.
