i will bring along my boys (6 & 9) for nearly the same route. I just booked the open jaw air ticket to Munich and back from Zurich for 18 days. It is our first time to Europe and I have not booked the hotel yet. I planned to go to Salsburg, Hallstatt, BMW Musemum, Legoland, Lucern, Intertaken, Grindawald, Wenga, Zermatt etc. Any other suggestion? Do you mind to share your plan? Many thanks!

Day 8 Half day to Lucern + Lucern city centre (Lucern)
Day 9 Tilis + Lucern city centre (Lucern)
Day 10 Grindelwald + First (Grindelwald)
Day 11 Jangfraujoch + Wengen (Grindelwald)
Day 12 Schilthorn + Murren + Lauterbrunnen (Grindelwald)
Day 13 Interlaken + Half day to Zermatt (Zermatt)
Day 14 Gornergrat + Sunnegga (Zermatt)
Day 15 Klein Matterhorn + Half day to Zurich (Zurich)
Day 16 Rhine fall + Stein am Rhine (Zurich)
I went to Switzerland several times, each time only visiting a few places. Hence the itinerary may not be useful to you if you want to explore Switzerland in depth.
The first time I only went to Luzern, and Titus from Germany, then flew out from Zurich.
The second time I went from France to Geneva, then Bern, Grindelwald, went up Jungfrau, came down and took a bot ride at Brienz, then from there to Innsbruck.
The third time I crossed the border near Chamonix, then went to Visp, Zermatt, went up Gornergrat, then to Andermatt, Zurich, drove South through some mountain passes to Lugano, then onto Italy.
The fourth time I flew from Amsterdam to Zurich, went to areas near St Moritz and St Gallen for 6 days. I have a thread in BK about that trip.
The fifth and sixth times I only visited Geneva and Basel respectively.
In my opinion, if you only plan to go up one peak, then Jungfrau would be the one, and Matterhorn would be a close second.
