老實講，日日番工，番到去都仲要鬧人，個感覺真係好攰．．．我第一次請工人，日日番到去，唉！唔係我特登去搵野黎話佢嫁，係唔知點解佢地真係日日都有野係做唔得唔好嫁喎！日日做嘅野，佢地可以突然間唔記得，係ｃａｒｅ份工，係真心去做，我諗唔會咁掛，有陣時真係唔想去挑剔佢地，但係你一唔理佢由佢自己去做嘅野，佢地真係可以唔做嫁．成日提成日話，你估我地好過癮咩？佢唔煩我都講到口臭啦．．．．唉！

i read times by times about the article here, the most crazy one is, some people ask : should we let the helper has hot shower during winter times?

or other question like " i do not like her sit on the sofa when we are watching TV together!"

well, i believe, some helper they are evil, but most of them are just normal people like us....

i agree so much what you say, 3-4K get the helper to clean your home, take care elderly or baby, cooking, and so on, what you want more????

sometimes i also have small issue with my helper, she can be lazy sometimes, and you have to kick her to work! but when my baby is sick, she is awake 24 hours to take care, then i put everything to the balance, and at the end, i am really thankful she is here with me.

Pls Hk people, relax, you of course can express yourself, and share your story, everywhere there is bad and good people, this is normal! but check more article here, 80% of the content is just so unfair to the helper, do not treat them as the slave please, beside, discrimination is always an big issue here in HK

I fully understand what you mean, be frank we (at least I don't) do not treat the maid as a slave, rather, we need to tolerate as much as possible since we have our baby on their hands.

I agree with you entirely that we have good and bad people in every corner of the world. Even for myself, I can't comment myself as a good or bad person. Some persons may comment me as good person but some may not. We are talking about whether the maid really wants to learn and care the job?

I don't expect any special performance from them, I just hope to see they will and can do whatever I ask them to do. My only concern is my baby and tidiness. I don't expect them to be as clean as myself, however, I don't expect one who will not wash her hands after going to the toilet and then take care my baby immediately.

We can ask, remind and even monitor but it's really tired. For some cases it is logic to my opinion but to the maid's opinion it is not necessary...

May I share with you of my exp? My first maid was a Phil maid, she sicked a few days after her arrival in my home. She said it was due to the weather difference between Phi and HK. I understand but I also remind her that just in case she keeps not feeling well she has to see doctor. I explained to her that she has close contact with the baby so it is very important.

The next day she started to have cough (the first day she sneezed), we then asked her if she needs to see doctor. She said not necessary and even she said she would give medicine to her daughter only when she has fever over 40 degree. She did scared me. Her situation kept going worse but refused to see doctor. We finally forced her to see doctor and the doctor said she got serious throat problem and flu.

My baby was feeling bad and kept sleep for long hours on that day (which never happen since he was borned). We therefore brought my son to see doctor (touch wood he was fine). We then talked to the maid (I have to emphasise that we didn't blamed her) and asked if she knows it can be resulted in serious consequence if she refused to see doctor? She said she does not have any problem... At beginning of the conversation, she already said she doesn't mind to be terminated if we are not happy with her...

We actually had no intention to terminate he at that time but her attitude kept going bad so we have no choice to terminate her...

I want to say, everyone who wrote here, there must be a reason. To some people's opinions they may be over reacted and the wordings are bad and attack to the maid. However, please, try to stand at the employer's side. We are humans, we are not THE GOD.... sometimes we just cannot control ourselves as we are toooooo angry and we LOST as we don't know how to handle the maid anymore...

you are so lucky, you have a good maid who is willing to stay up for 24 hrs while your child is sick......

for my helper, even my baby cries like crazy, she will not even step out of her room, even during daytime, after i woke up, she won't take care baby anymore, unless i ask her to do so(eg. simple like changing diaper, if i don't speak out, she will not help even she sees me doing it...)....seems like she has no responsibility in taking care baby at all after i got up...even though i mentioned it to her more than 5 times(she's been working in here for 4 months) that she should also take care baby even though i'm here because i need to work to(freelancer)....however, maybe her IQ is too low, didn't get what i said??

until now, if i'm here but busy on other things, and baby suddenly screams, she won't step out from the kitchen or stop her on-hand work to take a look at baby first....

i paid her salary in full amout but she only does 50-70% of work, even though she knows it's her job to take care everything of the house, she still pretends she's blind and deaf...should we, as employers, feel mad of them??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

see them as normal ppl??? employers are also normal ppl, we also have emotion. we, as normal ppl, cannot tolerate things have been done wrong repeat by repeat...we are not the god!~ ...if i always forget to pay her, will she tolerate that???

and, although we've been complaining or blaming helpers with bad descriptions, we've never done anything harmful to the helpers(i'm sure 99.9% of the mami here never, because we have kids on their hands). Conversely, they like to revenge employers by hurting them in different ways, mentally or phyiscally....so why can't we express our emotion and saddness through this forum?????

甜姐：500% agree to all your opinions. I told the same thing to my middle lady, the relationship between us during her service period will only be employer and employee, not part of the family, never, ever.

They tend to abuse their rights and have no intention to dedicate to the job.

Yes, it's crazy that not allow using hot water in winter. But is it crazy for a maid to beat a baby? or is it crazy for a maid to tell thousand of lies? is it crazy for a maid to use all their master's mask, skin care and then refill with water? is it crazy for the maid to keep talking on phone when baby cries? I could raise many many crazy things which really drives hk ppl crazy! I believe some stories here is crazy and not fair to the maid. But I also believe most of the stories here is not fair to the employer.

Can a cleaner say becoz he/she only gets $5000 salary, so the dish will have stain? Can a bellboy in hotel say because he only gets $7000/mth, so he sometimes can rude to guests? so can my secretary tells me she keeps forgetting becoz I only pay her 11K? They get this salary is becoz they don't need to spend $1 during their stay in hk and they can buy a big new house and enjoy a great living when they back. The calculation of salary is based on their living needs in hk and the salary scale among asian countries. If $3580 sounds not satisfactory to them, they won't come. You stand at a point that you are earning XXXK and so should have no expectation on the small money ($3580). If like that, then Li Ka Shing should always think most of the hkppl doesn't need to perform well. So if we pay them 1k more, they will do better???? If yes, I agree to pay 4k more! What kind of concept is this? differnt types of work get different pay. but no matter what's your job, you're responsible to complete the task of this job! this is not only happened in hk, but all around the world. may i know where do you from? mars?

Discrimination? what you write "Hk ppl please..." is already an example. Ms Mars.
