其實嗰個記者想試下警察有咩反應，宜家咁樣咪中咗生果報計，佢哋又有好多野可以寫，然後果d咩黨又可以玩嘢 ...

唔係咁做, 又點用苦肉計氹多D人今日去遊行, 包括琴日衝擊水馬, 前日開架64車入酒店, 呢D全部都係挑釁警方, 警方一做野佢地就可以大大聲聲話受壓迫, 打壓言論自由等等......

我們是一班在大專院校教授新聞採訪和傳播學的老師。今日，香港發生了一件嚴重威脅新聞自由的事件。《蘋果日報》記者今天(6月30日)採訪胡錦濤參觀東九龍郵輪碼頭期間，高聲就六四事件提問，事後被警方帶離現場十五分鐘。有關警員期間向記者表示，他高聲提問，擾亂秩序，是違規行為，但警方一直未能交代記者違反甚麼規則。

我們認為，事件是當局粗暴干預新聞自由的行為，是不合理，和完全不能接受的。我們相信，記者在採訪公務人物時，尤其關於公眾利益，記者有完全自主去發問任何問題，此精神是乎合國際新聞採訪原則和操守。

對於警方指有關記者發問太大聲，違反了「規則」，我們強烈要求警方解釋，究竟該記者犯了甚麼「規則」。我們擔心，所謂的「規則」，在不透明情況下，會產生寒蟬效應，為往後記者採訪和發問產生了極壞的先例。我們要求警方和政府解釋事件來龍去脈，並重申警隊和特區政府是否會繼續捍衛香港一直奉行的新聞自由原則。

作為新聞和傳播學系老師，我們在學院以內致力教育下一代新聞工作者，極度關注香港整體新聞採訪自由的情況。我們希望，學生在畢業之後可以在一個資訊流通和自由的氣氛下工作，對於香港在回歸十五周年發生如此削弱採訪自由的事件，我們表達強烈抗議和遺憾。

We are a group of journalism and communication educators from Hong Kong’s tertiary education institutions. An incident occurred today (June 30 2012) in Hong Kong that seriously threatens press freedom in the territory.

An Apple Daily reporter covering President Hu Jintao’s visit to the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal shouted a question to Mr Hu about the June 4th incident. Police officers subsequently removed him from the scene and questioned him for 15 minutes.
The officers concerned told the reporter that by raising his voice to ask a question, he had disrupted public order and broken the rules. However, the police have failed to explain which rules the reporter has “violated”.

We believe, this is a gross interference in the media’s right to report freely. It is unreasonable and totally unacceptable. We believe that when journalists are reporting on public figures, especially on issues of public interest, they should have total freedom in their questioning. This follows the spirit of internationally accepted principles and ethics of news reporting.

As for the claim that the reporter had violated “rules” by raising his voice, we strongly demand that the police explain what those “rules” are. We are concerned that this lack of transparency sets a bad precedent. It will have a chilling effect on journalists carrying out their work and on press freedom in Hong Kong.

We demand that the police and the government explain the rationale behind their actions and reiterate the S.A.R. Government’s commitment to protecting Hong Kong’s press freedom.

As teachers of journalism, we strive to educate the next generation of journalists and are highly concerned about the state of Hong Kong’s freedom of the press. We hope that when our students graduate, they can work in a society where information flows freely.

We strongly protest and regret that an incident that so seriously undermines press freedom should happen at a time when Hong Kong marks the 15th anniversary of its handover to China.
