我想小朋友中學先過去讀（10+年后既事）所以而家relocate好似太早，但係又怕遲D冇機會

I am pretty sure I will send my kids to the states for high sch but going there now seems to be too early for me (1 tot and 1 baby) as I want them to have good Chinese foundation first and I dun want them to be 竹星

How do you train up the Chinese of your kids if at all?

Yes you brought up a good point
I understand there is no coming back if we move to the states now as kids would find it hard to study in hk local schs if they have experienced sch life in the states

我住過美國，睇你住邊個州，如果florida真係好慢個生活節奏，想食下中國嘢都好難揾，住外國，自己渣車點到點四圍睇都要坐好耐車，食fast food, 報警，都無香港咁有效率，仲要考慮歧視等問題，唔知呢，我都係鍾意香港多啲^_^

I sent my kids to Chinese after school. The public school ends at 2:30 for 1st to 3rd grade and 3:00 for 4th and 5th grade. The after school staff pick them up and they learn Chinese (mandarin) for an hour every day.

Some people send their kids to Chinese school once a week (Friday night, weekend).

The best way to improve their Chinese level is to spend the summer vacation in Hong Kong, the US has a very long summer vacation - 9 weeks.

Actually the economy in certain area of the US is not that bad, at least in Silicon Valley, the job market is pretty good. I get emails from head hunters every week.

In terms if safety, it depends on where you live. There are many decent neighborhood that is safe. One time I forgot to close my garage at night and left it open overnight for over 12 hours, nothing got stolen including my bikes.
