My son was coughing very regularly since April. He was finally diagnosed with asthma end of May. He has been on preventive spray 3 times daily since then and ventolin when needed.
We started giving him Chinese medicine but all in a sudden he had a severe flareup this July. So we stopped the Chinese medicine and he has no flareup for over 5 months already.
I have done a bit of research and talked to friends in the medical field. It seems that the preventive sprays is really crucial and it does help stopping or alleviating the flareup.
90% of the kids would grow out of asthma at their early adolescence. Having said that I am still very worried. My friend's friend died of severe asthma attack in his 40s.
Could it be that there are anything at your home that your girl is terribly allergic to?
You know what we did. We threw all the curtains and upholstry furniture. We've got 2 air purifiers and an OSIM vaccum. No stuff animals or cushions. Change all his beddings to anti-mite products. We use Health Guard. You can get them at Wing On.
Most kids are allergic to dust mites so that might help.
