I have a similar problem too...."我而家擺晒時間係大哥度, 細兩個已經無乜點理佢地", in fact, no. 2 and no. 3 are still in Kindy so i even do not revise with them for their exams...then no. 1 is P5 and his Chinese is just terrible. Do you think it will help with Kumon Chinese, starting so late is ok? Please advise or share experience....
My kids are Chinese origin.....but no. 1 had his kindy years in Australia so his Eng is a little better (at least he's fully comfortable with Eng). And thus Chinese becomes very difficult for him and i must say Chinese IS harder to learn and be good at it. Now at P5 he can't afford to have a lower grade subject you know! THen I think about Kumon....people said it's good and helpful (but I know it will be expensive and requires discipline)......
Oh yes, in fact Putonghua is also my target for him because when he applies for F1 schools they will need to see his putonghua skill! I do believe in learning Chinese using Putonghua but I know what you mean, too rush to get instant results....
