Yes, they really have their own method. One thing that we can't compare, they have more time to play with our kid than ourselves. Poor working mami!!!

Thanks u so much for all the advises!

I also understand that my girl might pick up the cantonese very soon when she start to study ....but most of my fds & my mom always said I did so wrong as my girl's Cantonese is so poor.... :-| & it made me feel under the stress all the time! :cry:
Just now I check the N1 in our place $2680 per month...

I think I need to think about it again!

wow...so expensive, I did hear from women before, btw, is it a full day or half day class?

The one I plan from Hong Hong is $1930 per month for half day !

hey, don't take others' word so serious, u should have the confidence that u are doing the good/right thing for your girl !! what i mean is I do think teach bb english is good, u know, a bb can learn language very fast, only if he/she can the chance to contact with that language. So, I am sure michelle can speak cantonese ve...........ry fast later.

Before Hin hin was also like that, only can speak english , he won't talk in cantonese. For our situation it is better that grandma comes to our home everyday and she talks to hin hin in Cantonese. So, recently hin hin talks much more in cantonese, even more than english.

BUT u should be reminded that if Michelle does not speak very good in english (say, she still talk in single words) u cannot expect her to speak cantonese good , as for her, english is her mother language ah (until now) and she will get in control that language first.

Also , I can share my experience of teaching cantonese, I suggest u and your hubby can speak one language to her only, say u speak in english and your husband speaks in cantonese ONLY. As time goes by, she will understand she MUST learn to speak in Cantonese in order to talk to daddy! we also did similar, I and maid speak in english and grandma &daddy speak in cantonese. After he learns more cantonese, now Hin Hin already know -- when I speak to him in Cantonese, he will reply me in Cantonese. If I speak to him in English, he will reply me in english

If he use the wrong language, I will ask him to speak again until he is correct.

U can try this method.

你唔好咁樣去睇自己, 其實佢地的學習語言能力真係好強, 你比多小小時間比Michelle, 我相信提升番Michelle講中文真係唔係難. 我都好認同kyy比的意見. 相反我英文唔好, 唔想自己教錯佢, 所以我先對住obi講中文, 只係有d生字, 我會同佢講下英文, obi英文真係唔多好
