1. When can I sign the contract with her and how much for the agent fee?
ANS:{If you can passed the contract for maid to sign then anytime can be start to process, If not have to wait for her return to Philippines in June. Usually charges for direct hire HK$2500-3500}
2. Does she need to pass the exam before she come to hong kong?
ANS:{Yes must take the exam before she come, no worry never heard failed}
3. Do you know around how long she can come to HK?

I want to extend my existing maid for 1 month. What things do I need to prepare? Is the fee is HKD160? Can I go to the immgration dept in Yuen Long?
ANS:{Only need to bring 2 copies of green contract, passport & supporting letter signed by employer regarding both of you agreed to extend one more month of work visa because the new maid cannot come on time. Visa fee is HK$160. I don't know can be done in Yuen Long or not, if possible better go to Wanchai Office}

My maid (indonesian) contract will expire in Sep 07. I would like to renew the contract with her. I would like to know whether I could apply it myself without going through the agent. I would like to save the agent fee. I noticed that the agent fee is as expensive as I hire a new maid.
What should I do ? When I need to start the necessary ?
ANS:{Yes, you can process by yourself, but really not easy! First of all, you better call to Indonesia Consulate checking for the requirements and then go to HK Immigration Department requested for one set of contract/forms for use, they enclosed with the guildlines teaching you how to process visa. If you process by yourself, better start at least 6-8 weeks before visa expiry.
Actually not really expensive process by Agent, the cheapest one only cost around HK$2000}

My maid immigrate HK on 6/1, but I need to pay the levy on 4/7, if I want to terminate the contract, when will be the suitable date not to waste the levy money, 5th or 3rd of the month.
ANS:{You paid Levy upto July 06, actually the best termination date of course on July 06. But if you want to terminate her more early in May or June, the paid Levy will not be wasted, because the balance of Levy will be transfer to your new maid.}

My Indonesian maid has worked for me for 6 mths and I found out that she acted as her friend's guarantor to borrow money. Then I gave her a warning letter in March and asked her to settle the debt within a month, otherwise the letter will serve as a one-month notice for her. Now one month has passed and she still hasn't settled the loan, so I decide to hire another Philippines maid.
The new maid is referred by a bk mom and has worked for her for one year only. The bk mom will fire her using "financial problem of the family" and her last day will be May 22.
For this case, can I hire the new maid on May 22 and fire my existing maid at that time?

How long will it take to process the application for the new maid?

Do I have to draft another warning letter to my existing maid to serve as a one month notice as the March's warning letter is not valid right now?

I have paid the levy of $2400 in March, can I use the balance to hire the new maid? Or I have to pay the levy again?

I hire the new bun bun on Jun. hope she can come to hk on Aug, but I already pay the levy till 24Oct.
I don't want to waste the levy. Does the levy
breakdown can forward to new bun bun or have to waste.
ANS:{Yes, can transfer the Levy balance to your new bun bun, but Immigration will request you to terminated old bun bun before they released the new visa to you. That means you will have at least 10 days no maid for use}
Hi funfunamy,
My bunbun worked for me 5 months but she decided to terminate the contract. Her husband will need to work overseas so she has to go back home and take care her son.
She would like to leave at end of Sep but I don't want to release her until my new maid is ready, actually I am still searching for a new maid.
ANS:{Actually you have no right to not let her go, if she is not willing to stay, because by law she only need to give you one month notice only}
Should I request her a written notice?
ANS:{Yes, she should give you a written notice instead of verbal notice}
