Hi, everyone, sorry to reply late as I was busy at the weekend. The recipe of the buttery cookies is as follows.
Ingrendients:
140g caster sugar
270g pure butter ( only full fat butter )
1 egg
170g plain flour
170g self raising flour
22g milk powder ( I use the coffee mate one )
Soften the butter, if it is too hard, put in the microwave to soft it about 1-2 mins. Do not melt it completely. Add caster sugar and use the electrical whisker to mix them together until they are creamy. If you use melted butter, you will not get the creamy texture.
Add the egg to the butter mixture and use the whisker to mix them well.
Now, do not use whisker for the following mixing, use a wooden spoon instead. Sift both flour and milk powder and mix them in small portions to the butter mixture at the time, mix them well until you have finish all flour and milk powder. Now, you should get a texture like ice cream.
Grease the baking tray with butter or oil. Put the oven on to 180 degree. Get a icing bag with a plastic head (you can buy from supermarket or local kitchen shop). You can use them to get a nice flower pattern for the cookies. When you buy the plastic head, buy the medium size one. If the head is too big, it is difficult to get the nice flower pattern. If the head is too small, it is very hard to get the mixture out! When you make the flower pattern, try make the cookie bigger. If you make small flower pattern, I found that the cookies taste a little dry. So, now put the cookie mixture in the icing bag and you can make your cookie on the baking tray.
Then the next step, put the cookies in the oven and bake them until they are golden brown. Noramlly take about 20 mins. You may feel the cookies soft when you touch them, don't worry they will be crispy when the cookies are cool.

This sunday, my husband and I went to Birmingham's Chinese market 'Wing Yip'. It was nice, a lot of Chinese stuff there. We bought three bags of rice(Golden elephant) since there is no this brand in my town.
Also we had a Hong Kong's style's hot pot there. :lol: :lol: :lol:
