at the very begining, i asked her to record the trip and fare and only use it for duty. however, recently i found her using the food-shopping money to recharge it very frequently ($100 within 1 month) while my kid is taking the school bus, and the maid goes to supermarket with the free shuttle bus. for the taxi, she could not use the octopus card, right? and child under 3 yrs old, no need to pay. she just went out 2-3 time for the MTR short trips(and we paid her for the peak tram fare on the trip out). that's why i am thinking of taking the card back and rather reimburse her for the travelling charge.
yesterday i took some time to check on the receipt (she recorded all the supermarket and wet market food charges with receipts attached) . she charged me the blueberries $ in the first time, with receipt attached, but we couldn't find the fruit. after we asked her, she denied and gave us and the child black black face. then 1 day afterwards she bought and showed us the blueberry again and charged me with receipt, the second time. we pretend "nothing" happens and eat the fruit.
we guess that either 1. she eats up the whole box of blueberries and 2. she gives it away as gift for the friend living nearby, or 3. she tries to make us a cake (!) and fails and then throws everything away, or 4. she has an amnesia and forgets everything.
anyway, for the sake of the child, i think i will buy plenty lots of blueberry, so that she will keep eating until she gets bored of it !

For my maid's birthday, if she performance well, I will buy her a birthday cake and a gift such as clothes and blow the candles with my daughter. I hope she will have a sense of belonging.
