I got the Giant Castle Chess set from Sing, ~HK$15xx, cheaper than HK.
But v heavy, cannot hand carry, must become checked luggage.

Lego Buddies,

I am only interested in the TRUs gift of Darth Vader for $700+ purchase of Star Wars sets. But read from the minifig forum that a lot of TRUs were already out of this stock by Sat pm. Piglet's busy weekend (school work) so no mood to shop on Sat, did not go out yesterday had to go through Maths (missed 2 days of school) + Chin dict + Engl dict + maths quiz. P5 is v busy work.

Piglet complained a lot (had to remember / memorize this and that) so I had to kill these complaints. Nearly killed piglet in the process !

I bought #7747 at TST Toyrus at 549.9 today and got a "Fuk" bag with a Lego key chain (Star Wars Obi-Wan) and a T-s ...

The keychain is US$4.99, the Lego pin was HK$49 in Ani.com, and the T-shirt was ~HK$1xx in Ani.com. So the Fuk Bag was quite a good deal !
Slight compensation for being a LT Lego fans.

Got reply e-mail from Sing BShop :
"The #6299 Pirates Advent Calendar S$39.90 (sale price) will be launch on 1st
week of October....."
We will receive stock on 6 Oct (Tue) at Ngee Ann City Store and 8 Oct (Thur) at Plaza Singapura Store. You can call the store to make a reservation."

But toooo bad Carly can't get it on this trip.
Need to wait till I go in Dec I imagine.
In that case I will place an order for this one at the end of Oct. (2m before my forthcoming end-Dec trip, in order to qualify for GST refund.)

Found the following comments on MIC Lego, do you still want to buy the Pirates TTT, Battle Pack and the Minifig Vintage Sets ?

"it seems that such sets -- battle packs, magnets, chess sets, minifig collections etc. -- from 2008 onwards which feature pre-assembled figures have figures that are made in China and are of an inferior quality.

The giveaways are a no-so-shiny finish on the legs, sometimes a more visible mould seam down the side of the legs and arms that are not as stiff as on normal figs.

There's a thread about this at Classic Castle (http://www.classic-castle.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=17650) and the LEGO Complaining group (http://www.flickr.com/groups/lego_complaining/) at flickr has some photos comparing parts.

The Ambassadors have brought this up with LEGO who are looking into it, so things might improve."
