When I read NM, I turned to the last chapter, made sure Edward's there, before I continued to read the part Edward's missing.

actually i read very briefly the chapters of jacob and his pack... no interest. edward is the best.

Midnight Sun is actually not the 5th book of the story. It is Twillight written from Edward's point of view (Twillight was from Bella's point of view). Stephenie Meyer has not finished writting it and has not published it. Partial draft is available on web, btw.
