但昨入境處通知我哋,話Yan Yan個passport 8月到期,需要agent交過新passport copy,但agent話Yan Yan個新passport重未去做但係agent話都可以出到visa,冇影響,現想問d Yan Yan係咪可以响hk做新passport
好驚到時出到visa,但Yan Yan又話要返印尼做passport
同埋究竟個agent有冇老點我呢 ?
ANS:{Passport 08/2008就會批visa，工人可以係HK renew passport但要去2次領事館費用$180及一次入境處費用160。但passport 08/2007 到期就一定唔會出visa俾你，因為passport少過6個月有效期，都唔可以上機啦。快D叫Agent renew passport啦!工人係HK renew passport，費時失事}

My philip maid was hired thru a agent, but the agent gave me only the copy version of the employment contract and said they need to keep the original copy. Can they do that? Is there any risk? Is that means the maid can borrow money or apply another job(Canda) without asking for my permission?
ANS:{They have NO RIGHT to keep you and your maid original contract or passport, did they tell you why they need to keep? If you felt not comfortable why not tell them to give you back the original contract. Actually if your maid want to borrow money or apply to Canada, you can't do anything!
If you planing to Immigrate or apply the personal loan will you tell your boss before you apply??}

My maid lost her passport. She need to take at least 2 days off to the Philipine Consulate & Immigratio Office to re-apply the passport & working visa.
May I ask your opinion that:
Can I deduct these 2 days from the annual leave?
Or I should just treat this as no-pay leave.
ANS:{Upto you and also need to agree with your maid! Actually go to apply the passport & visa usually take 1-2 hours only,no need to take leave!}

Ans:{I disagree, there are also many good local Philippines DH too. However, they maybe picky in choosing their new employer and having concerns like the off days, employer family members, pets, having own room etc
As the local DH had already accustomed to HK environment, she maybe able to work indepently quickly in your family which is what your present situation requirments.
A few things to note hiring local DH:
1) Let her know about your family members especially to mention about your 99 staying with you.
2) She may want to go back to Philippines for her holiday before starting in your family.
3) If there are any house rules in your family, its better to tell her clearly before any commitment to take up your job.
