i never seen the 0.03% cortisone OTC. the lowest strength i saw was 0.5% cortisone OTC, while most pharmacies carry 1% cortisone OTC.
where did u get it?

nic,

did u apply Polysporin or Neosporin on yr girl's opened areas? that would reduce the chance of getting infection and remained scarrs.

唐人心態.. 諗住唔到爛肉唔用steriod, 咁on the other hand, 個小朋友咪suffer.. 日夜痕&痛到爛肉... prolong 咗period 至治療, 到時要用一般30-40倍嘅dosage 去control eczema, 如果係咁... 點解唔喺一見到勢 ...

其實因你地冇seasick, 你地唔知seasick既人係幾辛苦咯..正如你地bb有濕疹..都會試唔同既cream去幫個bb一樣, 好似話食花膠呀, 食燕窩好呀, 係chinese先有咋麻..咁你又信係真? 又去食? 因真係試過..又幾好先去試..西方人點會去食個魚既stomach同bird既口水呀..
我唔洗再去test呢個方法, 都話左係攪笑法, 亦係work既, 不過講出黎大家開心下..
坐cruise係唔係真係咁stable, 真係好講天氣, 如你係10月去坐cruise, 真係d浪大到你唔信..
deep-sea fishing就咪攪我啦..我對真fishing真係冇咩興趣, 假既fishing(坐坐下車釣魚就有...嘿嘿..

i think my seasick is quite serious too.
i couldn't even take the ferry (turbojet or any kind of boats but jetfoil) between HK and macau. it was killing me when i went for deep-sea fishing with my coworkers in Florida years ago. i had to completely lie down but still felt very sick and threw up so many times. however, i was ok when i was in a cruise in canada, coz i guess it's big ship.

I have car sick all the time but not sea sick. very strange tthough, i have no problem if i am the driver or sitting in the front. i can't seat in the back. oh another thing that works is white flower oil la.

SY Mom,
what is deep sea fishing ? is it almost like what they have on discovery channel? like catching lobster in rough sea?

I'm now shifting from Hell to Heaven everyday. When the 2 kids cry at the same time, when Spencer's so naughty to rip off all the stuff, when Amanda's mad when I'm feeding her... I feel myself in the worse situation. But, when Spencer comes to me a give me a hug, when Amanda coos and smiles at me, when they are sleeping peacefully in their beds, I'm so so so glad to have the 2 lovely angels. Well, you will soon to experience that. You're lucky, you are going to have 1 soon. Wait until you have 2 and you can see what I mean... hehe, don't worry

... don't want to scare you... well, being a mom, even though 90% of the time is in hell, I still say that it's good to have kids in the family. Take care and keep the excitement.

What kind of lotion to use for 濕疹 baby? Ivan has 濕疹on the face and head. sometimes has rash. Now I use Johnson's to him, but it is useless.

Don't use Johnson, many babies are allergic to it. I use Cetaphil or Lubriderm moisturizing lotion when Spencer's normal. When he has eczema rashes, I definitely put the dr. prescription on him. He uses Muripocin 2% and recently Desonide 0.05%. Dr. even gives him oral medicine to relief itchness. If Ivan has eczema, you're better to take him to see dr. rather than applying anything on him. I and my mom have try a lot of things on him, special bathing water, chinese herbal tea but we will never hesitate to give him dr. prescription. We don't want to wait until it's too late.

I will tell my C6 about all these and make him try if we have a chance to go for a cruise trip... I can imagine how he react if I tell him to put a garlic clove in his belly button

I thought the garlic is to be put in the mouth... hahaha oh it's actually the belly button. I'll give it a try next time. I only know not to pick the belly button otherwise get stomachache. Btw, I read from magazine that if you "da-c-ng", ask someone to press your side right below your ears and that will cure it. Another method I tried is drink water with your head down it works well too.

What is eczema? Is it very itchy but has no visible symptom? I think I have it on my back now. Is it possible for adult to have it? Last year my back right below the neck area got irritated by the clothes tag. I scratched it and it became worst. The entire area was covered with scar at last. Eventually it healedafter 6 months, but now it's happening again.:-(

我唔係講over the counter 嘅 cortisone, 係講 prescription.
0.03%同1% 係個 ratio.
一般mild 同under control case, peds 會prescribed 低dose 嘅steroid 去maintain skin integrity. 但如果等爛肉or BB喊到CC吓去去visit peds, peds 會要開almost 30times higher 嘅dose 去阻止濕疹惡化..
also, over the counter meds should not be USED on infant/toddler UNDER 2 YEARS OLD

deep-sea fishing is going a bit furthur from offshore to get to the deeper part of the sea, so that u'll hv a bigger chance to get bigger and more fish.
i think it's quite popular in Florida:

thx for yr info.

so, what's the name of the 0.03% steroid cream u're talking abt ? as u know, every steriod cream got its own name such as Hydrocortisone, Desonide, Cultivate, Betamethasone, etc.

usually the pedi in here will only write prescription for the steriod cream which strength is over 1% cortiosne; otherwise, they usually just tell you to get the 1% cortisone OTC. for those under 2 yrs old, they just tell u to apply a "very thin" layer on the affected areas up to 2 to 3 times a day.

To All Moms whose kids have eczema,

maybe we can start a new topic to share our experience, etc.

btw, which chinese writing system u're using?
seems that u're very "fluent" in writing chinese.

i've been having hard time writing message in chinese. it takes time for me to do that. i'm using the e貓小蒙恬 that i bought in HK last year.

I put coco butter and some other scar thingi that said it will reduce the scar over time..... just hope it works!

don't worry ... she should be fine as she's still so young.

i like the Califormia Baby cream from the Whole Food store (or get it online) and the David's cream from Australia (need to get shipment from there). i don't have eczema myself but my neck was a bit itchy due to wearing the silver necklace and sweating during summer. there was marks on my neck too, but now they were gone. i just tried putting on either cream couple times.

The one Gabriel is using for eczema is Protopic (tacrolimus), I don't use any over counter medication on Amanda and Gabriel. As their peds've never suggested that..
I do keep one anti-itchy cream for myself. That is from Benadyl.. but still.. I don't let Amanda to use at all.. she will use the prescribed cream with MD's order.
as for my health insurance, they will post it for me, when I need it via online.
我都係用e貓小蒙恬.. 都ok 喎, 個version 好舊架喇..

me too. My situation is same as you. When I sit in the back, I have a serious car sick. But if I am driving or sitting in the front, I feel ok. Maybe the brain is focous on driving and no time to put me to car sick.
