I hope Wing Fung can get use to very soon la. These few nites, he asked me "Why mama needs to go to work?".
And Wing Fung got fever last nite (39oC !), we went to St. Teresa for out-patient visit (because all his medicine expired already) in the mid-nite. I am so guilty. :-( :-(

don't worry ! 39C is not really very high. Only when having convulsion that arouses intense and urgent attention. as children's body immunity system is different from adult , so they will get fever very easily. actually this is normal and even healthy to them. this is one of the way how they start to build up their immunity. I remember that I always have as high as 105F when I was a small kid, and still very clever now (hee hee, of course my mom got very scared)
Bacterial infection is a common cause for fever, as the bacteria will release some toxins/chemicals that attack the body and the reaction will cause fever; moreover, the body will immediately fight back by raising the body temperature, this is one of the self-protection mechanism.
next time when you have similar problem, you may call me immediately. 1. I slept very late 2. We always keep some med in the fridge 3. we live so near 4. I can teach you very simple Chinese Medicine Method and tools to lower the fever quickly.
by the way, is he better now? will you still let him go to the toy library tomorrow? may be more rest is needed as little child use up a lot of "energy" to fight the illness and the body easily get "dried up" after fever.

水痘 passing to small children is not so serious, but be careful not passing them to elderly and weak people, as they become much more fieceful in adults, in the form of 生蛇 (formal medical term is herpus zoster) as the virus stayed in the old people's peripheral nerves and become inflammated once irritated and "aroused" again. that could be very painful, with bubbles. my father just caught it last year, and my younger sister also caught it 2 months ago, painful and trouble. symptoms and side problems can last for 1-4 months if not treated quickly.
