There is an Airport Bus from the JR Tower, but everyone suggest to use the train because it is more reliable (like the MTR here in HK). If it snows, the bus might get stuck in the traffic jam and you will be delayed (and very nervous in the traffic jam).

For skiing, we take the train to the nearest train station. the ski resort has a shuttle bus there for us. Depending on which ski resort, some (such as niseko) have direct buses from the airport and Sapporo. That's because they are not near any train stations.

On our second last day of skiing, we pack up our large suitcase (with everything that we won't need for the rest of the trip) and send it to the airport by 宅急便. On the last day, we play a bit in the morning, then pack up the other things and take the train. This way, even if we go to other places for site-seeing, we only have one suitcase to worry about.

If you are considering skiing a little bit, there are several ski places in Sapporo. There should be information in the links I sent earlier.

There is a very very good suggestion from you, send largest suitcase to the airport by 宅急便 at the day before leaving.

Which 宅急便 you will use ? Usually, the suitcase will arrive before your flight left ? Will you order by hotel or you can speak Japanese ?

Sahoro? Thanks. As I usually go to Niseko to ski together with my 5 year girls. This year, I would like to find a new
ski area in Sapporo that aslo suitable for Kids. Is Sahoro
good for kids and have lot of track for beginners.

I also arriving Sapporo on Feb 2, stay one night, then we will go to Niseko to ski for 4 days. Then, we will go to
Tokyo few days. :lol:

我又唔知邊間係 original 呀, 你會住邊間 hotel 呀? 如果住 JR 站附近, 你可以去 JR Tower 附近果間, 咁時間會容易d控制又唔駛帶住行李周圍行.....

我去時計台果間當日係大約12點鐘左右, 唔駛排隊:mrgreen:

根室花 has 5 restaurants. Do you know which one is their "original" one? I visited their website again, and found that they have a restaurant in the Sapporo JR Station 大丸側飲食街 6th floor ...

I cannot speak Japanese, so always have the hotel arrange for me. They usually have special rates with one or two 宅急便 (tell them ta-kyu-bin, or write the Chinese words for them). My experience is, if you sent your suitcase before noon the day before your flight, your bag will be available at the airport when you go to check in. I always take CX, so that means the bag is there by 2pm. If you are taking an earlier flight, you have to double check that the bag will arrive on time to wait for you. Suggest you to contact the hotel two or three days before your departure to make sure.

There is a 宅急便 at the airport, but I have not used this service. I will be trying it this time to send my big suitcase to the ski resort first, so I don't have to bring it to Sapporo for just one day. I am sure if you have the address (written in Japanese) and phone number of the hotel, it should be no problem.

We have been going to ClubMed Sahoro for a few years now. If you require lessons, their instructors are very good, and they all speak English. Actually, a lot of their instructors are from Canada and Australia. Their kids club is very good and safe, and the kids have a lot of fun while learning to ski. My son usually spend the first 3 or 4 days with the Kids Club instructors, then ski with us for the last day or 2.

The downside is that it is a bit more expensive than other resorts, but considering that everything is included in the price (except for ski rental), you save a lot of hassle when you are there, and I think the additional price is worth it. The other thing we like is that when you return from the slopes at 5pm, you don't have to worry about deciding on where to have dinner. Everything is there waiting for you, and there is also evening entertainment if you are not too tired.

If you don't need lessons, the Sahoro Resort (http://www.sahoro.co.jp) is a good choice. However, their English level is so-so, and it may take a bit more frustration to get answers to your questions.

Both these resorts share the same slopes, which are very family-friendly. There are many Green runs for beginners, and quite a few Blue and Red runs as well. Of course, there are also several Black Diamond runs for the die-hard skiers.

I am looking at the Niigata region for future ski trips (http://www.welovesnow.com). It is only 70 minutes by bullet train from Tokyo. Have you considered it? I think it would be a lot easier to book flights to Tokyo than to Sapporo, and a lot cheaper too!

我依加回程未confirm 到, 因為我用asia miles redeem, 回程經narita, sapporo去narita未有位, 又話吾可以waiting list, 叫我得閒打電話去問

28/12之前要覆實, 我個女同我老公就confirm曬, 因為佢地係buy package... 咁我依加應該點呢.... 會吾會到時真係confirm吾到架.....

You are right, they are not shown on the map.

As soon as you get your suitcases and enter the public area, there are several (two or three) 宅急便 counters straight ahead. I remember there is a JAL or ANA one further to the left. The most popular one I have seen in Japan is Yamato Transport (http://www.kuronekoyamato.co.jp/english/services/index.html). I am quite sure they have a counter at the airport.

Don't worry, all airports in Japan have them. The Japanese people rely heavily on these to get their luggage home, as most of them live far away from train stations.

我打左電話去日航問, 佢地都話有位, 都吾明點解asia miles吾到…. 佢地話要大約$800到 (計埋tax), 不過要3 日就出ticket, so any suggestions ah

I cannot find the price for JAL, but ANA one-way flight is about 30,000 Yen (plus tax). You can call the JAL office in HK and ask for the price. If it is fully refundable, you can book first and get a refund later if you get the AsiaMiles connection.

It is an additional expense, but at least you don't have to cancel the trip (好掃興呀 :cry: ) because you cannot get a connecting flight!

The reason you cannot get AsiaMiles seat is because they only allocate a limited number of seats for free travel. It seems that all the free seats have already been taken on your flight.

Is this $800 ticket refundable?

又打左電話去問, 佢地話不過要扣5000yen+$125手續費, 成張講緊係10000yen + 500 yen (for tax), 咁即係扣得一半咋喎, 好吾好摶呢

For the flight to Tokyo, defintely it will be cheaper and
easy to book compare with Sapporo. We redeem our
family ticket from Asia Miles but we have redeemed it in
April, 07.
