Why do you think he is innocent? As you say we cannot make judge to everyone but you already assume that student act as innocent and forgive the things he have done and hurt to police
I don’t mind people disagreeing with me. But please at least do some research before you speak. HK is governed by the common law, under which all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
