It will be very difficult for me to see the doctor every other day for 2 to 3 weeks in a row.............Also, I don't want to tell my managers about my personal things like trying to conceive and IVF stuff.
May be I can try to schedule my appointments in the morning like you (8-9am) and then show up at work a little later. For the ER and ET, I just take a day off for that.

Thanks for reminding me about the frequency of appointments... I never thought about that.

Let me give you my schedule for your reference:
1) office visit - consultation with Dr. Nelson in mid Jul.
2) office visit - Meet with Coordinator for the schedule planning and instruction at the end of Jul.
3) Day 3 to take the birth control pill
4) office visit - Baseline ultrasound in mid Aug + sign IVF consents with partner.
5) office visit - Injection training 5:00pm in SJ office after the ultrasound.
6) Start injection at the end of Aug.
7) office visit - Pre-stimulation ultrasound and blood test in the beginning of Sept.
8) office visit - Retun to the office for a blood test in mid Sept.
9) office visit - Seeing doctor Nelson + blood test every other day for a week .
10) office visit - ER and ET at the end of Sept

Thanks for the detailed schedule for the IVF. It is very useful and set an expectation for me.

I have finally booked an appointment with Dr. Nelson for next week. The hours of my job are very crazy and not very flexible, so it took me a while to find an available spot on my schedule......

Congrat on going into your 2nd trimester :>
I have seen Dr. Nelson and he is so nice and patient. Thanks so much for your recommendation. I will run some tests and get some check up in the next few weeks and hopefully I can start the IVF in April after the busy season.

Dr. Nelson mentioned it many times that I will have a risk of having twins if I decided to transfer two embryos.... I remember you told me that you chose to transfer two embryos on each of your IVF, were you concern of having twins at that time?

No...we didn't worry about having twins. We just worried if we were not success at that time. If you are financially affortable, then why not...don't have to do it again for the 2nd one like me! But of course there would be addition risk for you and the babies. Anyways, what I am trying to say is we can accept twins but not 3 or 4.

Hi yoyocutie, hope that you are doing well. Dr. Nelson asked me which hospital I'm planning to have my delivery if I can get pregnant........ I actually have never thought about that! Would you mind sharing your experience on the hospital you used for delivery of your last baby ? and are you going to use the same hospital this time?
I live very closed to Stanford, but my experience with Stanford hospital was very bad. Stanford is very institutionalized with no customer service and impersonal.

I had mine in El camino hospital (MountainView). I was okay with them the first time, so I am planning to do it again with them this time. They have limited private room. My boss' wife is working there, so she was able to arrange me for a private room last time. If the private rooms are full, you have to share room with others and your husband can't stay with you over night. They have a nursing center. You can put your baby there overnight. They will monitor the baby for you and bring the baby to you when the time is ready for feeding. It will give the mommy some times to rest. I know Kaiser doesn't have that option. Baby is in mommy's room all the time.

By the way, it really depends on your OBGYN doctor. If he/she is contracted to other hospital, then you have to go to that hospital! Have you picked a OBGYN doctor yet? You will be released to him/her once you reach around 9 weeks of prenancy.

Congratulations yoyocutie! It's so excited to be pregnant, right? I still remember how I felt when I learned that I was pregnant as well as the responses of my husband. Take good care and you should feel much better in the 2nd trimester.

One of my coworkers' wife is also pregnant after going through 2 IUI processes. She's going to have twins as the doctor has put 2 eggs in her body after the 1st failure to conceipt. They are so excited and I'm happy for them.

honeybeeyy, hope that we can hear good news from you soon. Pressure is a bad influence to one's life. Find some time to relax and prepare well for being a mom.

Thanks Rose-mag! Yes, we are so excited as getting the fruit from the IVF is not easy. I am on my 16th week right now and waiting for the baby movement. Only by that you can know that the baby is doing okay day-by-day without seeing the ultrasound.

Happy new year! Hope you had a relaxing holiday and your pregnancy has been going well :> Have you found out the gender of your baby yet?

Although I don't like Stanford very much, I decided to see a ob/gyn that is affiliated with Stanford because it is closest to my home and the convenience is quite important to me after all.

I'm in public accounting so the hours of my
work are beyond crazy till March..... but I have made some progress for the IVF treatment. I have got all the bloodwork, ultrasound and test done and I'm ready for the IVF once I can free up some time from work!!

I'm still considering whether I should pay a premium for the ARC program and if I should pay for the 2 cycle or 3 cycle package in case I don't get pregnant on my first attempt. There is a lot of factors to consider when choosing the financial options.

BTW, Rose-Mag, thanks for your message! I really hope I will have the luck to become a mother like yoyocutie and you!

Finally getting some words from you. Good to hear that you are ready to go. So you will start the treatment in Mar? I really hope that you can be the same as me, then we can share the pregnancy experience too. Let me know when you actually start the progress...I will let you know what I did and I will mentally support support you! Don't forget to use the ice pad to cover the area for 30 sec before you give yourself shot. It will be painless.

My work schedule has finally slowed down this week from the busy season. I'm really burned out from work ......

and I can't wait to see Dr. Nelson and start the IVF this month!! I remember you told me that you started taking birth control pill on day 1 in July and had your ER and ET in Sep. How long it usually requires to be on the birth control pill before the IVF? If my day one will be March 25, can I start the IVF this cycle? or I will have to wait till my next cycle in April?

I am doing okay...baby is doing fine too. It's a boy this time.

Have you seen the coordinator yet? Did you get your birth control pill from her already? She will give you the instruction and the schedule once you see her. Whenever you are ready to start the process, you can call the coordinator to let her knows when it's day 1. If you are ready now...give her a call on Mar25. So excited that you finally start your treatment!

I have started the IVF cycle this month FINALLY!!! I'm on birth control pills now and will go to the injection training next week. I would like to know whether you have elected to use the ICSI before ? Dr. Nelson gave me this option but I'm still thinking if it is necessary.

My baby was born in Jun already. Now I am in that club too! ha ha!

My daughter was an ICSI baby. The first time we did half natural and half ICSI, and both went through the fertilization stage. It turned out that the ICSI embryos' grade were a little bit better then the natural ones, so they put the ICSI ones back into my body. The second time we didn't do the ICSI because dr Nelson said they were not sure if my hubby's sperm was good at the first time, so they suggested us to do half and half; but the second time they were for sure that my hubby's sperms were strong enough to break through the egg's wall and became fertilized, so he suggested no need to do the ICSI.

Congratulation to your baby boy!! It is so perfect to have a girl and a boy! Are you planning to go back to work full time with two kids now ?

I'm going back for my last ultra-sound and blood work tomorrow before the HCG trigger shot! I have been trying to stay calm and not put too much hope and pressure on this cycle because I don't want to be disappointed if it doesn't work.

Do you remember how long you were on the stimulation before they gave you the trigger shot ?

I have been on stimulation for about 8 days and I have developed a lot of follicles but my Estradiol level (blood test) is raising very fast and the doctor said I might have to trigger a day earlier to prevent OHSS but will risk losing some eggs that are not ready to mature yet...... I feel like this whole IVF thing is all about timing.
