HSBC has also monthly investment plan for stock or unit trust via internet banking (min 1000/month). I think one of the best choices would be to buy 2800 tracker fund. It is an index fund but trade as a stock. Therefore, no subscription or management fee as normal fund. So, quite cost effective in the long run and risk is not too high.
