My maid just told me that she has Baby for 7 mths, of course I am very unhappy as she cheat me for so long. However, we can do nothing as this is illegal to fire a pregnant girl. Although she can resign by herself but My friend who is a lawyer said that the maid can sue you at the end and said u force her to receive money n sign the resign letter. In order to protect yourselves, we can just let she takes 10 weeks paid leave.
The maid can enjoy the $100 per day fee in public hospital like us, so they will not accept to resign by themselves n just get 10 weeks money n leave. My maid said that her son can allow to work in HK when he grow up in future but I don\'t know whether this is true.
I asked the immigration, the maid can leave in other places if they want during maternity leave. For my case, my maid has friend who can take care her, so she will not stay in my home, if not, I will be crazy. Immigration said there is no form to fill in regarding this arrangement but I ask my maid to sign that this is her own arrangement in order to avoid any problem in future.
