Hello, everyone, I have something to share.

Yesterday, I went shopping with my 9 months old son at Richmond Center, Vancouver. I put him in the big stroller that I rented at Richmond Center, and then went to La Senza. The service was really bad there because the salesperson just ignored us (They didn't even say "Hi" to us) When they knew I was looking at some bras, I could tell by their facial expressions that they discriminated us just because I was a Chinese mom with a baby in a big stroller. Obviously, they pretended they were really busy and didn't see us there, so I didn't ask for their service.

While I was choosing my bras, a 5-7 years old Chinese girl came by and played with my son. It was fine at first, but then she started to grab my son's hand tightly and squeezed his face, which made him cry. Immediately, I hugged my son, gave that little girl a smile, and said softly, "My son is still a baby, but you are a big girl. I know you just want to play with him, but you should touch him gently. If not, the baby will be scared." The girl listened, gave me a :-x and then just ran away without an apology.

, but I didn't mind because she was just a little girl.

After awhile, she came back and suddenly, she squeezed my son's face hardly and punch his head. Obviously, my baby cried out loudly. I was shocked and I told her to stop. But she wouldn't listen, she wanted to punch him again. I was really mad, so I grabbed her right hand and told her to stop. She screamed at me, intended to hit my son again with her left hand. I was really really mad :-(:-(, and I shouted out loud, "Where's your mom?" That little devill continued to scream, so I called her mom (I knew it must be her because she was the only Chinese lady there) She was concentrating on choosing her bras , so I shouted at her in Chinese,
"You should look after your girl." Finally, she came up to me. I knew she heard my baby's cry AND saw that I grabbed her daughter's hand, but she just pretended nothing happen AND brought her daughter back AND continued to choose her bras!!!!! I mean, GOD !!!! What kind of mother she is??? :-(:-(
She didn't ask me what happen but obviously she KNEW what happened. Her daughter hit my son twice and they just ran away without an apology. I was really really shocked and mad, but I didn't want to argue with her. I hugged my baby and after he was OK, I just wanted to leave. While I walked away from the counter, I heard those salesperson were laughing and they said, "See those Chinese............. HAHAHA" I sweared I will never go to La Senza again!!!! Moreover, when I looked back into the store, that little devil stuck her tongue out and gave me a LOOK!!!
God, I guess her mom must be an uneducated person, so does her devil daughter.... :-( :-(

hi - sorry to hear what had happened to your son. there is a chinese saying "the same rice feed 100 different kind of people" so be it.
I never been in Vancouver, so could not comment much. but similar things happened in Toronto... I may have wrong impression... but I knew most of the mainland chinese people (with little education) they will do the same things in the mall, in supermarket.. or so...
they talk loud... speak foul language... splitting.. westerner could not distinguish which is which.. so they just think.. chinese are like that... and we got blamed.

need help/advise from Toronto ma/dad - I found that we have a big hole on the roof (right on the top of the attic) but covered by the shingles so everything looks normal from outside, but look thru' insides... you could even see beams of light coming thru' the shingles.
The builder that every house will have that house in the attic - to hold the safety belt during the construction. as the hold already covered by the shingles.. then there already a guarantee no water leaking during heaving rain... is that truth?
I have no way to check :-
1. is that truth every house will have a hole on top of the roop?
2. will the shingles that waterproof? as I could see the sunbeam passing thru' that hole.

any advise what should I do to report that? and get warranty in case of future leaking?

doggie,

check out the attic when it rains, then you will know if there is leaking. I am not kidding... this is the only way for you to know if that is waterproof. :-P Take photographs for record.

poohpoohmama - we took the photo already.. and right now there is no leaking (after those rain storm in the past few weeks) and that's why the builder said... the hole is there for the safety belt... every house is like that.. Since we could not check if other house from this builder is the same as we are... so just need advice from you or other mom/dad who has house from Aspen ridges too... see if what they said is truth- otherwise, will keep pushing them to fix the hole. :-x

if i were you, i will call for police or security guard in the mall. even though nothing can be done since she is about 6 or 7, but at least they will be warned. these types of people must be given a lesson.

Hi cc008 - How are you? Which part of NW do you live, i live in Hidden Valley and i just know that Sandstone & Macewan daycare is quite OK because i have friends with babies in these daycare. i am a stay home mom so i have no experience on day care or baby-sitting.

Did you go to the stampede, we went on wed, and it was hot

I live in Edgemont area, one block away from superstore. Thanks for the information about the daycare, do they take care babies that is 3months old? So, I just wondering if u have to go out for a short period of time, how u manage your kids?do u have someone take care them for u?
We went to stampede last sunday and the weather was not bad~~of course, full of ppl! :-P

Daycare will take care babies starting from age 0, and of course the younger the baby the more expensive the fee is. Both my parents and my hubby's mom are in HK, we have to take the kids along with us wherever we go. Both of my kids were breastfeed babies, so i was the mobile COW for them, my 1st trip was to Toronto with my son when he was 13 months, and then when my daughter was 3 months old, we went to Fernie, and is OK and of course breastfeed is very convenient. We also went to HK when my girl is 8 months old to attend my husband's sister wedding.

Are you planning of going for a trip, and i think i won't feel comfortable of leaving them behind to somebody (not realtives or someone i know well) and i may choose not to go. So after the kids were born, we no longer have '2 peoples world'. not even to movie of dinner!!!

woo - twin... are they really look alike... how you distinguish them? will they play tricks on to you to pretent as the other.... :lol:
