yes, compare w/ those gym exercise like my gym, the little gym, gymboree ...... my musikbox and kindermusic are quite leisure and may be not suitable for those active babies ...... on the other hand, I found that some gym exercise may be too tough for baby below one ....... anyway, I enjoyed yesterday trial @ my gym very much (honestly not my baby, as he's a bit nervous and shy) and I really want to join but my hubby didn't say yes because we have already enrolled my musikbox and he just want to have one playgoup at this moment ......... perhaps we can have 2 one or two month later .......:-( :-( :-(

you r right, i'm thinking of whether to continue with MMB. i really like the class myself with the singing, story telling, music appreciation. i'm a "musical" person & i'm really scared that my bb will turn out tone deaf or sth??!?!!!!

but my bb never manages to sit thru a MMB class. but for my gym, he's so excited esp the swing part. by the end of the class they have puppet show & ball shower (socialising time), he really enjoyed that too. i think it's the approach & mix between action & circle time:
1/ warm up
2/ action/exercise
3/ puppet show/socialising/down time

i don't know whether to train him re: concentration & learn sth or "have a good time" at my gym??!!!

what do you think 0612 moms?????

agree w/u la, as it's totally two different style, that's why I want to have both lor, so that my Liev can have two kinds of stimulation ....... let's me try to convince my hubby sin ......

re. the course of MMB yesterday, there was not any story telling or sth like that. and the singing part is v. short when compared w/ TT. thus, the english exposure is v. v. minimum and actually the teacher did speak cantonese in quite a lot of time.

Simply judging from the course yesterday, I would say the exposure of "musical instructment" was plenty but the exposure of "music" or to be exact, the babies' exposure of music may not be so much as the env't was too noisy.

It's worth to give a try. At least we can learn more what the baby likes and what he doesn't. :)

cc930666 - u think it's ok to keep both right? u know the class times also suit me perfectly. cos MMB is at 1pm in CWB, i can go at lunch time (within walking distance to my office). My gym sat am, normally go with my husband, so like a family outing thing.

as u said 2 courses r totally dif, will probably keep both for 1 more term & review in 2 mths time (he'll be almost 1 yyear old)!! time flies!!!!

I found it quite difficult to find suitable pg for babies under 1.

TT is gd in terms of the English session and the English teacher is v. pro. It's only the third month baby studied there, but already the third Mandarin teacher. Seems the turn-over rate of the school is too high. the worst is each teacher will ve her own set of songs/actions. u know it's not so easy for baby to get used to the set of songs/actions. once they could do it, the teacher left and came the other!

Getting more and more headache on it.

bakusensei - TT is always my first choice, but logistically doesn't work out for me.

staff turnover is a v common problem for PGs in general. as the owner of kinder u explained, a lot of the instructors leave cos it's not a long term career, instructors get burned out at the end, want to do other things. i can understand that.

so maybe it's good idea to choose a PG that has a set curriculum, so that even change of teacher won't affect too much.

1/ curriculum
2/ instructor
3/ location

I tried bothe Kindermusik and my gym, my bb like both, but I think she's too young for Kindermusik( she can't sing the songs, if only appreciate music, this can do at home) and my gym also have this part, so i decided to join my gym at this moment.

thx steamball, i need advice from a music expert. what do you think it's the best age for kindermusik? i'm really scared that my bb will become tone deaf like my husband???!!!! so playing cd at home is ok??

TT should ve a set curriculum but practically I found teachers ve their own sets.

e.g. the English Teacher, Ms. Tracy, who is v. pro and charming. Babies r v. concentrated when she leads the circle time. They all love her singing so much. (and she is v. pro in child care. I saw her taught and helped an inexperienced father to tackle the sudden "break-down" problem of the other kid). Last Sat, she was not teaching (I m not sure if she took sick leave or not.) The substitute teacher was gd (in terms of caring and English) but she picked some other songs which babies were not familiar with.

The third sound of my baby made, apart from his "ma mam sing" and "da da sing" was "quack quack" which was actually the duck's sound made in one of Ms Tracy and the kids' favourite songs "the 5 little ducks". sometimes when we sing the song, baby will make the "quack quack" song. Thus, u can imagine how disappointed my baby was when he couldn't see his favourite Ms. Tracy and all his favourite songs.......so did the other babies.

i play classical CD for bb everyday (Bach, Mozart........all kind) 1 CD per day, and also sing childeren songs and clap hands together with her, BTW , u can buy some bb percussion in TOM LEE and let your son play, my bb can shake according with the beat now( but only her favourite song, but for me a good start)

previously location is one of my husband's great concerns.

but in view of the recent high turnover in TT and the trial class in MMB, my husband is even considering pg on the HK island.

Anyone tried the baby phonics (English lesson) in Beaumont 東山 before? Any comment?

steamball - u have a v musical baby wor. my bb loves shaking, but he just shake harder & harder then he will laugh.....

my baby loves playing drums too, for the same reason like hitting v hard to get v excited!!!
