My family, Jeff and Jade used to be do the Flu vaccine every year cos they are easy to get cold in the winter season, or changing season. But they haven't done for few years already. Cos few years ago, they took the flu vaccine but it didn't work at that time, they still got really bad cold at that year, about 1 or 2 weeks to heal.
So we asked the GP why, he said every year got a new flu virus, even thought you took the vaccination, still u will get cold cos that year vaccination can't prevent all the flu virus come to your body, of course, will depend on the healthy you are as well. And the GP said, if people get sick twice a year is ok, better than no sick at all. So after that, they haven't been do the flu vaccination.
And i think Nathan is so young, of course, kids will easy to get sick cos they don't have much stronger than adult. so virus will easy to get through to them. Sometimes, kids get sick will get them more stronger. So I don't think have to give kids do the flu vaccination in their early ages, except they are really weak.
My son, Aiden easy to get sick than Hazel, he's been running nose 10 days, but now he heal without any medication. Everytime when he was running nose, it took about 10 days to heal without medication. GP said when he is older, he will be more stronger. If the symptoms not serious, it will heal by themselves without medication. But I believe that. In HK, when the kids sick, mother immediately bring them to see the doctor, and they eat a lot of different kind of medicines.
So when We in AUst, when my mom know Aiden or Hazelbeen sick, she just straightly said, bring him to see the doctor and eat medicines. Of course, I will say OK. But actually i didn't, cos I will see them how sick they are.
But I found honey is good for health, sometimes can prevent sickness. Cos my hubby, Jeff drink lemon honey every morning, of course, i made it for him. I found that he didn't sick much than before. So i did give my kids lemon honey sometimes.
Yes, I agree that the immune system needs to be trained. Well, I think I'll try the flu vaccine once to see how it goes. As we will go back HK in a few months, hope the vaccine could help a bit for protection. Or less severe the symptom could make a big help for me. Don't want BB get sick in HK and ruin my holiday again.
Have book 8 March morning to do the vaccine. :p Should be ok to go to your party in the afternoon.
