The question is to draw 4 lines (may not be straight lines) to divide the figures of the clock into different parts. And the sum of each part is equal.
I divided the clock into 3 portions by drawing two non-straight lines. If you sum up 1-12, the sum is 78 which can be divided uniquely by 3.
The 3 parts are:
(A) 11, 12, 1, 2
(B) 3, 4, 9, 10
(C) 5, 6, 7, 8
The question is to draw 4 lines (may not be straight lines) to divide the figures of the clock into different parts. And the sum of each part is equal.
I think so. Because I don't think father can be 10 years old now. The word 'then' is a clue. My daughter said she had no idea about that so she had written present tense.
Besides, one question is: he (play) table tennis now?
My daughter wrote: Is he playing table tennis now? She said she had seen the word 'now' and so she had applied present continuous tense. However, in my view, I thought she should answer: Does he play table tennis now? The word 'now' here is to compare the present interest and past interest of her father. The word 'now' here doesn't mean 'in the meantime'.
I'm not sure if I'm right or not. What do you think?
